Bulldog Broadband - WARNING

Seeing as we're all waxing off about who to go for, I have recently signed up to Enta.net's Max Allow package, which, for £19.99 a month, offers whichever is the maximum speed your exchange will allow (up to 8mb currently), and a generous 30gb cap per month (during peak hours- 8am - 10pm Mon-Thurs), unlimited outside those times, and Support is excellent.
Before that I was using Fast4.net, which was cheap at £16.99 for an uncapped 1mb line, but tech support was only free for the first 7 days, at which point you have to dial a premium rate number, and the queue's were usually pretty bad.
You could alternatively pay an extra couple of quid a month to use a national rate number instead, tho, hopefully, once your up and running you shouldn't need support too often.
Hope you get sorted...0 -

- avoid Bulldog at all costs. Bulll*&^t more like. My phone wasn't even working this weekend (you have to change your line from BT to Bulldog) so I could not phone my parents in South Africa and their crappy 8mb internet keeps disconnecting or timing out. They also promised a free modem which never arrived. Try and get through on the phone (when/if it works!) to complain is almost impossible. I wish I had stayed with Freedom2 surf - only ever had 1 problem with them in 3 years and they sorted it out fairly quickly. Can't wait to get rid of the dog and go back to F2S or maybe Zen Braodband who I also hear are good.."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

I've just migrated from Pipex (who had changed their terms and conditionds regarding "unlimited") to ZEN, and so far have found them good. Not needed their customer service, but perhaps that's the best customer service of all - the one you don't need.0

I hv just migrated to bulldog at £17.50p/m including free phone rental for 6 months for 8Mb speed. The changeover took almost a day but everything is working fine except for getting new email address from them (I can live with that for this kind of speed & cost) The contract is only for 1 month.
M I being just lucky or what? because all reports & remarks are against themsomething missing0 -

bt they they have some rubbish offers on.
for 17.99 2Mb (Up to 40x faster than dial-up)
1GB inclusive monthly usage
If you go over 1GB charges will apply as follows: £4 for the more than 1GB, £8 for more than 3 GB, £12 for more than 6 GB.
To keep track you can monitor your usage online
Calculate your own Broadband Usage.
just look at that 1gb from bt where everyone else offers 3-5gb bt is a disgrace would not touch it.
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0
