Bulldog Broadband - WARNING

They may be really cheap BUT you CANNOT get through to customer service or Technical support. Has anyone else had an awful experience with them?

Don't migrate to PlusNet - I just changed to them and although you get through to Customer Support - don't expect too muchg help..... wish I had stayed with F2S now.

Bulldog have a very bad reputation for customer service. Havent they just recently been bought out?

  • yeah, they were bought out by C&W a couple of months ago and the service has been down since.

I used to be on plusnet and found them to be ok?

Am looking at moving onto UKonline or waiting for the new 24mb broadband...

You mean it can get worse. They have been bad for a long time and now C&W taken over they got worse :(

I left Plusnet last year because I took exception to there definition "unlimited", now with Zen who thankful know the true meaning of the word "unlimited". Perhaps Plusnet have a different dictionary to the rest of us.

Never heard of 24mb broadband in UK, fastest I have heard is 8mb

two companies so far have indicated that they will provide 24mb broadband.

The first, BE unlimited - by the same people who did Bostream in Sweden

and the second, freedom 2 surf.

    Not sure when though!

I have been with F2S for the last year, and I have to say I have had zero problems with them. Even when my pre-chip and pin card no longer worked and bounced my monthly payment, they simply sent me an e-mail and collected it next month with no extra charges. I can't imagine an insurance company or bank not make a charge for that!

I was always under the impression that Bulldog don't support migrations. I think this is because they use their own equipment in BT exchanges. I've just had a check on the net, and this seems to be the case.

You may have to cancel with Bulldog first. Be without broadband for a while and sign up as a new customer to another ISP.

You probably can't get through to Bulldog because their too busy phoning potential customers. I received a call the other day and once I told them I wasn't interested they put the phone down almost immediately without even saying bye!

I would defend Plusnet though as I have received good service from them although I admit there are probably better alternatives out there nowadays. There are a lot worse though.

For an absolutely top notch ISP, I would recommend Zen . No limits and excellent customer service. They are definately not the cheapest out there, but I've never seen them beaten by another ISP in any category when compared at ADSLguide. You can select up to six ISPs here to compare them in different ratings (hover over the results bars for the exact figures)
