Please understand how paypal works. If an item is sent to a confirmed address and is tracked online using a paypal allowed service *and* shows as delivered your seller protection kicks in and you are covered.

It only gets nasty if item is not tracked to delivery or if the buyer address was not confirmed.
you'd think that but no ur not covered. with my personal case it was a confirmed addy PLUS it was sent recorded.

so therefore dont try and tell me to 'understand how paypal works' as i clearly do understand and have refused to use the service since. im lucky mine was a small amount. others have been hit for hundreds.

If you can prove delivery to a confirmed address then refer paypal back to their own T and Cs regarding seller protection. There are some exceptions to seller protection for instance posting too late might affect it, but that rarely applies as most people ship promptly.

i think it's a disgrace that paypal cant admit that do anything about fraudsters using their service, as much as i like to buy things i would never do this to anyone and seriously think its a disgrace, imagine if your bank said "yeah the cheques cleared then 3 hours later, oh wait you never had cheque protection so the other party has withdrawn, tough luck" no way, £400 is alot of money for me and was going to be on renovations for my house, now what do i get? a kick in between the legs, my xbox 360 "nicked" and told by paypal, told you so!

have been with my local police for 2 hours providing evidence for them to send down to Birmingham, they gave me loads of recommendations and im delighted with the seriousness that they have shown me, in fact im delighted with Birmingham police as well with the manner they have conducted in so far, so why have paypal snubbed up their noses? are they not the same company as ebay? do they not care that when a seller sells that they are "recommended" to use paypal as a "fast safe and secure" service for both buyers and sellers?, i have now however emailed watchdog with this farce as i have seen a few documentaries on tv with them grilling ebay/paypal, all i want is MY money, why is that so difficult......

Hope you get your cash back mate. A work colleague lost £600 to a scammer. The police wouldn't do anything (belper police station) as the item value 'was too small'. He later found out, they would only investigate if the item value was over £1000 or someone else reported being stung by the same person!
