I Can't Believe it!! (ebay & paypal scam?)
Comments
-
I've sold loads of Wii's, PS3's and Lites.
I nearly got scammed on a Wii on a BIN. Luckily something came up and I couldn't get to a post office on the same day of receiving payment.
Since then I always leave it a couple of days after receiving Paypal payment before sending any items over £50. I explain this to my buyers and they are fine with it.
Hope this helps some of you.0 -
.......and always send to a Confirmed Paypal address using a trackable method with high value items.0

Yep. Forgot to add that as well.
I also put on my listings that I will only send to verified addresses by Paypal and always send them special delivery.0 -
Not verified thats not the same as a confirmed address - it needs to say against their address details in paypal 'confirmed address' it will also say 'elligible for seller protection' which is the important bit.0

oooh the payment wil probly bounce anyway. thats the risk with paypal...
even if it was confirmed/verified, ud still lose out.
thats why i dont use it, plus their fee's are ridiculous. 0 -

A high percentage of buyers use Paypal so its their prefered method of payment so protecting yourself by conforming to Paypals protection scheme is the best you can do.
Not sure why you would still lose out in the event of a problem.0 -
as the seller they try to tell u your covered but ur not. u sell item, they pay, u send out recorded item asap, feedback is left both ends. 2 days later paypal say the funds r being recalled from the buyer, ie, they dont have enough bank funds to cover it, your paypal acc is in a minus and uve got selling fees to pay and buyer runs away laughing with an item for free. paypal dont care coz uve paid them their fee so now want the money back off YOU or they start bombarding u with letters about ur minus account...freddysmith wrote: »A high percentage of buyers use Paypal so its their prefered method of payment so protecting yourself by conforming to Paypals protection scheme is the best you can do.

yes paypal really cover u dont they? like i said even if the addy is verified/confirmed it doesnt matter. by the time your told its already too late. you only hope is the police...
for this and other reasons i refuse to pay and buy with it. and even worse are the new ebay changes regarding the sell of certain items HAVING to have paypal as a method of payment... more money in paypals pockets. NO THANKS!0 -
Please understand how paypal works. If an item is sent to a confirmed address and is tracked online using a paypal allowed service *and* shows as delivered your seller protection kicks in and you are covered.
It only gets nasty if item is not tracked to delivery or if the buyer address was not confirmed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
