I think it sounds like a lovely idea! You have a lucky little lady there
Some times Limos aren't appropriate (like in the case of my Mr's Aunt who wants one to drop her off just before me at me and the Mr's wedding grrr) but this is not inappropriate!0 -
My DD would love a Limo and went in one for her aunties 13th and thought it was fab!
I am sure it would cost no more than her teddy factory party which was £10 a head for 10 kids followed by a kids box in john Lewis and that was very much cheper than partys we had in halls with discos ect.
My Ds had a fire engine for his 4th birthday which was simuler set up to a limo party and the kids LOVED it! It was talked about for ages and all the parent recorded it took pics ect! again cost me £100 money well spent.
I have told dd no to a limo because I want to do it when she is 13 and it be special but I see no problem in it at all ( we are having a spa/whirlpool in the garden this year with a bbq and hawian theme!)
there again my dd has got a mobile at 8 (which has a pin on which I have to unlock for her so i know what she is doing on it!) and her and her and ds (5) both have a mp3!

Thanks for the positives. Lifes too short to wait for a day that might not come, and if you can't do it when you're young, when can you do it?!
She had a great time. she took her pop party cd, they had a drink each, chucked some balloons around, posed like the 'spice girls' and we played a couple of pass the parcels. Went quite fast, and my anxiety based on earlier messages was needless!
They went bowling after, my daughter loves bowling, and had eats at the bowling alley.
She had a lovely day.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
CJ2405: Im so pleased your daughter enjoyed her special day, and hers and your memories will last a lifetime!0

It all sounds like great fun.
We have a fire limo booked for DS 6th birthday but we booked it for the fire aspect rather than the limo. As well as going for a ride the driver comes dressed up as a fireman and they do stuff with hoses.
This did cost more than the bouncy castle we hired last year BUT the kids just wern't happy with playing on that and with all our garden toys and I also had to organise seemingly endless games and keep chasing them out of the house (they wanted to play with the indoor toys!)
Both cost less than taking them to an oudoorsy place the year before. Both also cost tons less than hiring an hall and an entertainer (the best local entertainer costs more alone than the fire limo!).
The spa party sounds like a good idea - we have a huge hot tub perhaps I could just get half a dozen kids in there next year.
I think having a limo is a good party idea, as has been said here they are not always content these days with the traditional party stuff, they are so used to having entertainers at the parties that this becomes hard to compete with.
Already this (academic) year we have had parties at the huge play place (costly per head) 2 in halls with entertainers (hmmm not a lot of change out of about £300 then with the food) and one in their own barn, with an entertainer and then in the evening a HUGE fireworks display.
Its harsh but this all started years ago, I can remember when we all started having McDonalds parties as kids - seems the whole party business has grown and grown. The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -

I have to admit when I first read your post I thought WHAT:eek:   then I thought about all the little lads in my family who would have loved a fire engine party at that age... & I know these limo things arent as dear as you might expect
I am so glad she had lovely day - we only have them (our children) for such short time really & I prefer to spend less on Christmas & 'spoil' them on birthdays so I can see exactly where you are coming from. If you can afford it then why not!:TI THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0 -
Hi,
I think its a great idea, especially the fire engine one.My son would love that and it would be an unforgetable birthday for him.I wanted to take my son disneyparis but I dont think I will be able to afford it so now Ive seen this thread I will have a look to see what the prices are for the fire engine.Ive lookedon 2 sites and one was £160 and another £180. Im a lone parent and my sons dad doesnt help financially, so it will be up to me to pay and I have no one that can help me so I am limited to money. My flat isnt nice and its just temporary till I find a better home for us so I feel embarressed having a party at home as most the kids in my sons class are wealthy families and they dont really talk much, they have there own groups and I have tried talking as I am a friendly person. But anyway, can anyone recomend a company based in London?Maybe i could get the fire engine to take us mcdonalds ect.I really want my son to have a magical birthday as he has been through a lot recently and he will be 6 in march.0 -
great stuff! glad she had a good time OP!It's BOUGHT not bRought0

We used :http://www.firemanslift.co.uk/
they were brilliant played a "hunt the lost monkey" game in the fire engine did the sirens ect
it was £100 and they took 8 for a hour but we had £16 and they had 1/2 each this included a firemans hat each.
I gave a red food box type thing with a ladybird at the fire station book and fireman sam choc bars with name on from ebay as loot
not sure if they are in London but it says on the website.
you could go to mcdonalds on the engine or pizza hut ect
