  • Err moneysaving, hiring a limo?? I think not.

I can't think of anything more inappropriate than a limo journey for a 6 year old's party or the least pleasurable for the kids.

I have no suggestions other than change your plan, invite 5 or 6 friends over, or rent a hall or children's play area if you have money to burn. There they can run about, have a few formal games like pass-the-parcel and go home with memories of a great time had by all.

One of the best ideas I've seen for a children's party is to go to your county's Wildlife Trust. They hold children's parties at their Visitor Centres. Wear old clothes and wellies, do interesting activities under supervision, come home tired and go to sleep happily.

A limo for a 6-year old.....no. Wait 10 years and do it for a 'prom' on leaving Year 11 at high school, do it with a group of friends. Not at 6.

    Hiring a limo for a 6 year old?
  • why did you hire a limo? I mean, what thought process was behind it? Did the child ask for it specifically? If they did, ask them what they want to do in it. Where is the rest of teh party being held?

Surely it's nobody elses business what the OP wants to pay for, they're asking for advice on games.

To be honest I imagine the kids will be so over excited about even being in a limo that you wouldnt be able to get them to sit still long enough to play games lol.

Besides, if the limo is moving at the time I certainly wouldn't want my kids jumping around inside for safety.

You`re entitled to do what you want but if you are doing this kind of thing at the age of 6 then you are setting yourself up for a spoilt child. I think this is more appropriate for a 16 year old.I would change your plans and explain why, to your daughter.(my opinion only)

  • .......then all her friends will be wanting a Limo on their birthday thus putting even more pressure on parents...ive been 1 of those parents who won't invite the whole class to a hired hall and disco every year....tight maybe but there is pressure to keep up with the jones regarding childrens parties,
if a limo is what you can provide for you daughter and it'd make her happy then thats good, but remember next year and the year after she maybe expecting you to provide the same ,if not more, level of thing. just thinking ahead really! once a president is set kids want more!

I agree, a limo at 6 is too much too young. Wait til prom at 16 or 18 (in fact DD didn't even want a limo for prom......bottle of Cava and 4 mates in Dad's Espace was her choice!)

How about bucking the trend with a real birthday tea with cake, jelly, sandwiches and all those party games I'm sure kids still would love given chance to play them. Call it retro!

Sorry guys, I was looking for advice, its paid for, she wanted it, she isn't a brat, and that wasn't all that she was going to do.

Once shes done it, its done.

    Thanks for the ideas.

    Crikey, limo at 6!

Im throwing my opinion in when its probably not wanted, but hiring a limo at 6, means that her 7th probably wont be so good, and once youve done a limo, the excitment of it ends right there.

Sometimes things are worth waiting for, limos are expensive and i dont think 6 year olds will really appreciate it!

As for games, good luck. you gotta be careful if the car is moving, and depending how many are in there space and still be tight.
