Oh come on...give the OP a break, as a mother of 2 girls 7 & 11, I completey understand wher the OP is coming from. I know both my girls would jump at the chance of riding in a limo. The eldest did (end of primary school treat organised by PTA) and loved every minute of it.
This isnt the 70's, kids are not satisfied with "tea & cakes" birthday partys anymore, and I certainly dont think the OP is setting herself up for a spoilt child.
Loads of kids do it now.
OP, when my daughter was in a limo there were bowls of sweets and pop and depending on what limo service you use, most of them play music videos, I think they will just be made up to be in it, I dont think you will have to do anything!
Hope your daughter has a great day!!0 -
I've never been in a limo in my life ... and I am a lot older than 6.0

My DD is 8 and asked for a limo party last year. She also wanted an Ipod for christmas and a mobile phone. The answer to all 3 was no I'm afraid. While she is little she can make do with jelly and ice cream, baby annabell, and Password Puppies game. Otherwise I am going to struggle to outdo myself each year while her getting older makes it harder and harder to choose alternatives!
She wasn't too fussed when I said no, and was perfectly happy with what she had.0 -
Is there a thing called a limo party or is it just hiring a limo and them riding around in it? How many are going to be going to the party?
After the limo ride are you going to a hall for a party or back to your house. If we had a bit more info we may be able to come up with some ideas.0 -
Have you also thought about the fact that every child in the limo (unless they are over 130cm tall) will have to have a child car seat? Are you prepared for needing to install all these child car seats?
Sorry but I still don't understand why a 6 year old would find this fun being strapped into a seat belt and driven around as a "treat". Could you not improvise and find some stables that might do horse and cart rides in the countryside then your daughter could pretend to be a Princess in her carriage???0 -
Sorry guys, I was looking for advice, its paid for, she wanted it, she isn't a brat, and that wasn't all that she was going to do.
Yeah looking for advice and all some people could do was get their claws in, it should be them saying sorry to you I think :cool:I've never been in a limo in my life ... and I am a lot older than 6
Remind me not to come here asking for helpful hints when arranging a party :cool:0 -
Hi - we hired a limo for our DD's 7th birthday. Her friends came to our house to get ready and have some nibbles, we took a CD of her favourite music to play in the limo and then we got dropped off at the local McDonalds where they all had a happy meal. The limo company provided party bags of sweets and he pulled over halfway through the journey to serve them Kids champagne (in REAL GLASSES!)
Our daughter LOVED every minute of it - she had always wanted to travel in a limo - she felt like a real star. And there was quite a crowd of onlookers outside the McDonalds when 6 overexcited kids charged out. Your daughter will love it I'm sure - enjoy the day - they are only young once.:rotfl: :rotfl:
Quite keen moneysaver......0 -
I think it sounds absolutely brilliant. I know my daughter would love it but I personally would not be able to justify that much money on a birthday party.
My dd is 8 and would love a pink limo. Its something I will probably do for her prom with other parents chipping in.
I hope you dd has a wonderful birthday.0 -
hi there,
I hired a limo for my sons 7th birthday party, he had 7 of his friends in the back, it had a disco ball and tv showing pop music videos and childrens champagne. all the children LOVED it and i can tell you it cost a heck of a lot less than hiring a hall and putting together a buffet. Honestly I know I'm new here but sometimes a lot of you can be soooooooo off puttingly judgemental that it is a wonder you get any newbies coming along at all!
OP I hope your child has a lovely birthday whatever you decide to do afterwards. Is there a local softplay centre nearby that you could get the driver to go to? or mcdonald as someone else suggested is a good idea, only 2.99 for a happy meal. It's BOUGHT not bRought0 -
It really is no one else's business what the OP does or pays for her child.
I would perhaps take them to the cinema(like going to a premiere!)or if hiring a hall put a red carpet down at the entrance!,or ice skating or visit a beauty parlour, my local nail salon does "princess parties"nails, pedicure etc. Hope she has a great time!0
