TJ Hughes had Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum 30ml, 2 bottles for £10 today - which is an over 60% saving on the normal price! These products were originally destined for the Chinese market and have been overstickered in English, but are definitely the genuine article0

Since getting a pair of the HUGE paris hilton style specs from Primark, I have hardly worn eye make up at all except when I have been out in the evenings. Excellent moneysaving sunglasses!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I make lots of my own skin products, I buy my supplies from a lovely lady called Natasha http://www.candleliteliving.co.uk/butters.htm.
Someone asked about lip plumping - I make my own lip balm with shea butter, beeswax, mango butter, vitamin e oil and the magic ingredient is peppermint oil. If you like, you can also add a teaspoon of cocoa powder. I use half a teaspoon of melted shea butter, half a teaspoon of melted mango butter (it's thought to have natural protection from the sun), half a teaspoon of melted beeswax, a couple of drops of vitamin e oil and four drops of peppermint oil. It's really tingly and tastes lovely!
There's lots of recipes on that website. If you have any queries about anything then Natasha is really helpful.
I also use aqueous cream on my body after my shower, it's £1.99 for 500g.
For a deep conditioning hand and foot treatment, melt a little shea butter or mango butter into your hands and feet and preferably use some cotton socks and gloves. I do this overnight so it sinks in really well. I also use this on my face from time to time, it feels like a baby's bum in the morning
Apparently anusol cream is excellent for dabbing on spots but I don't get that many so haven't felt the need to buy the cream.
For an excellent cuticle oil, look on ebay for Tammy Taylor Cuticle Oil. It's a brilliant product and doesn't cost much - it lasts forever0 -
My best beauty money saving for hair:
I used to work in Tony&Guy and learned the "glossing" technique: buy a permanent hair colour in cream (like L'oreal Excellence) mix the tube of colour with the conditioner (throw away the developer) and apply in washed/ towel dried hair - cover with a plastic shower cap for 20 min and rinse.
Presto: glossy shinny hair that looks like a million dollars!! Specially good id you feel your hair porous, dry and brittle - it changes the hair texture to smooth and soft.
It doesn't add any colour to your hair - just a shimmer that washes away in the next time your wash your hair. With a Lemon, Make a Lemonade0 -
Does that have a damaging effect in the long run though as hair dyes do? And how long should the shine last?Thanx

What damages your hair is the developer - in the cream you have all the oils, the conditioners, the proteins and the coulour - the colour itself is harmless - it is the developer that is harsh (peroxide).
How long it lasts? the glossy beautifying effect lasts for 2 or 3 washes after the treatment.
You will have for a fiver a treatment that in a salon would cost you £40 a go
In doubt, try on a strand of washed hair first, rinse and then dry and "feel" the result. It is fab!:oWith a Lemon, Make a Lemonade0 -
Another treatment that the experts in the trade use (they use themselfs) for treating coloured hair:
Wash your hair and apply a tube of V05 hot oil according to instructions - rinse and then apply a handfull of Clairol colour conditioner (the little tubes of conditioner for coloured hair that sells for £0.99p in Boots and Tesco) and leave it on for 5 min - rinse once again and voila - treated hair and colour that lasts for longer.
The combination of both conditioners applied in layers works wonders in coloured or damaged hair - a similar tretment from Kerastase called Kerathermie (where they layer 4 different conditioners and oils from kerastase) is one of the best things I ever seen for treating dry, damaged or coloured hair - but is expensive - this is a cost effective (£2) home made alternative treament with excellent results. With a Lemon, Make a Lemonade0 -
Thanks Jane I'm going to try this tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. I love DIY hair treatments, so thanks for sharing and feel free to share all toni & guy tips.:A

Great thread i have not read it all so sorry if this idea has been mentioned. Sugar scrub.
mix normal sugar with aqueous cream about equal quantities and gently smooth it over your skin or if you are like me really scrub it in till your skin tingles. Then shower or soak off. I do like this as the sugar just dissolves and you are not left with gritty mess to clear up like other exfoiliants
If you don't have aqueous cream a good moisturising shower gel is ok but the sugar can be abit harsh.0
