Reclaiming questions (sorry to ask)

Can anyone tell me if it is now safe to resume reclaiming my bank charges back? I haven't heared anything back from my bank since all claims were 'frozen' for Test case.
Silly I know but need clarification before I proceed with reclaim. I have already got back my statements after sending in my £10 so on next step that I am just as confused about what I can and can't claim back - what if my calculations are wrong? Will it be discarded or will I be informed to correct charges?
Thanks. Here's hoping for a big windfall!

If all you have done so far is get your statements then you should move on to the next step which is asking for your money back (plus interest).
The bank will reply saying that they are not dealing with claims just now because of the test case, but at least your claim will be in the system for when we (hopefully) win.0 -
As has previously been mentioned you can request a refund to get your claim onto our systems, here is a quote from our internal memo Q&A sheet:Can I make a court claim for a refund during the test case?
Yes, but we will apply to the court to put your case on hold while the test case is running. This is because the issues being raised in customer complaints on unarranged overdraft bank charges are being considered in the test case. Once the hold is removed we will process your claim as normal under company policy0 -
Hi
I have already sent away for my 'statements' for 3 Lloyds TSB accounts which are now long closed. I received them back a while ago and have even posted asking for help as the majority of them are not ordinary looking bank statements but from what I assume are internal files of a similar nature.
I am confused with the wordings as to what I can and can't claim back even though I have tried to match them up with the advice I have already received on these boards, not for the effort of trying to understand.
However it's all too confusing me still
but I dont want to give up just because I cant cope obviously. My question therefore is where can I go to for help? I know there are many companies out there who will charge me a fee (or % of my claim) to do the job for me. However I am looking for advice on which ones I can trust and are good at what they do and if there are even places I can ask who will do it for free or a minimal set fee for me?
I also have other bank accounts I can start claims with once test case is settled so it looks like I have a good amounts due back if win. Money I need to help clear debts.
Many thanks

Hi Ghosthunter,
You don't need a company to do this for you, They will all promise you all your charges back quickly, and will charge you 25% and upwards of anything you get back, but NO claims are going fully forward at present due to the test case.
Everything you need to reclaim is available here in the templates section.
Post up the different wordings ie; what they are caling each item and I or other knowledgeable people on here will tell you which ones you can claim,
You can either type this out or scan and paste it up here, coving your personal details first, and we will endeavour to help.
Also don't until the end of the test case to start your other reclaims the sooner you start the sooner you will be paid out when the court case is concluded.:rotfl: Surely life can't get any worse it has to only get better from hear on out :jJanuary NSD aim 15days0 -

Many thanks for this advice. I will add it to my priority to do list and let you see it soon. Appologies for the delay but the advice and questions I am having on these boards that require further information to help me is piling up along with the tasks I have been advised to do to deal with my debts. Naturally I am taking each task in turn and crossing them off as I move down the to do list.
Fantastic.
Get back to you soon!
Many thanks.

Hi Appologies for the time it has taken to post the details, had other important things to sort out as well, why cant we just get one problem at a time instead of everything deciding to come at once ??
Anyway the wording on my printouts I am confused about and not sure if its something I can or can't claim are:
Firstly there is a pile of paperwork for each account that has "View Statement Entries" as a title and wording as follows on it:
CHG - O/Draft Interest £ Sheet No 10
CHG - O/Draft Excess Fee £ Sheet No 14
CHG - Unpaid D/D £ Sheet No 14
CHG - O/Draft Interest £ Sheet no 16
After that there follows another lot of paper for each account with what I think is a simplified statement it's headings read as follows:
Date Activity Paid out Paid in Balance
Next there are what appears to be photocopied bank statements:
Date Particulars Payments Receipts Balance Ref
DEB
DEP
PAY
CHQ
These following ones apply to a business bank account with Lloyds TSB.
CHG - Charges 10apr to 9may £ dr
CHG - Serrvice Charge
CHG - FEE-unpaid items
CHG - Bus Focus Fee VAT paid 1jun to 30jun
Account Charge
Just to put you in the picture although a couple of pages are like ordinary bank statements the majority of them (and as I am claiming for 4 accounts backdated 6 years thats quite a lot of paper) are printouts headed "CUSTOMER NOTES" in collumns on blank sheets of paper. Basically each new item has a date and the info jargon next to it with some numbers. I am assuming this lot is a load of internal account info about activity of the account and so I can ignore it, none of it actually has any amounts on it.
Sorry if I seem stupid and maybe the answers are glaringly obvious but I cannot grasp what I am doing. I dont want to end up asking them to pay back more or less than what I am owed as either they will chase me for debt if overpaid or they will not admit they underpaid if I am correct??
Finally is there anything else I can claim for that wont be written on the statements?
I assume I then add it all up (once I get to grips with it) and send it in with letter number 2 - sit back and wait?
Many thanks, sorry to ramble.

Don't worry it all takes time to sort out and problems always come in multiples
Anyway the wording on my printouts I am confused about and not sure if its something I can or can't claim are:
Firstly there is a pile of paperwork for each account that has "View Statement Entries" as a title and wording as follows on it:
CHG - O/Draft Interest £ Sheet No 10 You cannot claim this
CHG - O/Draft Excess Fee £ Sheet No 14 you CAN claim this
CHG - Unpaid D/D £ Sheet No 14 you CAN claim this
CHG - O/Draft Interest £ Sheet no 16 You cannot claim this
After that there follows another lot of paper for each account with what I think is a simplified statement it's headings read as follows:

Date Particulars Payments Receipts Balance Ref
DEB
DEP
PAY
CHQ
These following ones apply to a business bank account with Lloyds TSB.
CHG - Charges 10apr to 9may £ dr
CHG - Serrvice Charge cannot claim
CHG - FEE-unpaid items CAN claim
CHG - Bus Focus Fee VAT paid 1jun to 30jun not sure about this one
Account Charge cannot claim
Buisness claims are still progressing as they are not covered by the test case so cliam for everything that isn't a monthy charge for running the account such as Account Charge and overdraft interest ie; claim for unpaid DD fees, Unpaid SO fees, Paid item fees, and overdraft excess fees.
same charges are applicable for personal accounts reclaiming!

Don't worry about asking questions everyone of us started with questions and received answers that have helped us NO question is stupid if you don't know the answer
Finally is there anything else I can claim for that wont be written on the statements?

Once you have sifted through all the paper work put all the figures into one of the spread sheets available on the site ( I used Mindazi's ( think it was from MSE) ) and see what it adds up to and then make a decision as to weather you are going to claim CCI or not.
Theres lots of info on here and on CAG so have a good read before yoiu decide.
What ever you decide make sure you use the templates and stick to YOUR timetable and not theirs.
Many thanks, sorry to ramble.

Can you tell me what would happen if I tried to claim for something I couldnt claim for (eg - CHG - Bus Focus Fee VAT paid 1jun to 30jun not sure about this one?)? Additionaly if I over or under estimated the final figure to be re-claimed by mistake?
I am starting to work on these now thanks to the encouragement and decyphering of the jargon you (others) have given me.
Here's to clearing some more debts!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.
