As Cardew says Sarah, it will be 900. Most likely a mistake from the operator. The average annual elec usage is way below that so if it were 9000 units they would get a hammering from Ofgem as they would be penalising the poorest members of society which goes against Ofgem's strategy (as well as shafting quite a few domestic customers at the same time):rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0

Hi I changed from bg to edf 3 months ago as bg left me with no gas or electric for a whole weekend knowing I am disabled and have baby!!! Edf actually seem to be cheaper and their cs are much better. But what I want to know is how much does this affect me as i am on prepayment meters. When they switched me over the guy said as i am disabled he would lower my rate even more and pressed a coupkle of buttons on the meter and changed the rate??? Does anyone know what I am talking about lol or have i been "had"?
The engineer has to set prices per the Supplier, he/she has no ability to make your unit prices less. Whilst it can be changed on the meter, this would be a fraud on the part of the engineer and the Supplier would very easily report him since they will eventually see that you are paying less to obtain energy than your tariff on their billing system. Thats why people get stung when the caliberation goes wrong.
Did you have a debt on the meter? He/she may have set the debt lower but even then the Supplier will still adjust it later.
Some Suppliers have started offering discounts on energy for those fitting their fuel poor category but I don't know about PP metering.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -

IF shes wrong then jeez what chance to i have! they are in the job working for EDF if giving me wrong information like that then shouldnt be in the job!
The telephone conversation would have been recorded.
If you are absolutely confident that 'the lady' got it wrong and gave you the wrong information, for both electricity and gas, you can always check it out!!!!
As you say she "shouldn't be in a job" if she misleads you and all of the others who read your post.
If you do check up on this, let us know the result please. They will probably say you misunderstood - the very thought!!!0 -
When you get the bill the rates are charged per the amount of days in the quarter.0

I was told this too when I phoned up about my imminent switch to Hydro Electric Price Fix - nearly cancelled the switch.
So glad I didn't.0
