I listen to the first minute and then start writing. If it's good then I keep listening, especially to see if there's a good middle eight or any kind of dynamics that lift the song later. But if it's clearly just a standard piece of uninspired bleh, of which there is much on STP, I submit and move on.

I even stick STP on in the morning while I'm getting dressed!

I dont have the attention span to listen for 3hours straight to music lol!

    that's my curse - i do :)

actually, i could listen to music a lot longer - i'd probably get bored writing about it after a few hours though, but i could happily listen to music all day
  • I guess I just need to dedicate a bit more time to it then :) I write about the intro and stuff, but have waited until the end, though I see how I can save time by starting as soon as its available.

I'll try to do some at work, as even a few will help, as currently I'm not home til 7pm, and my mornings are spent getting ready, then leaving straight for work. Family time comes first when I get home so, the work option seems like a winner. I can pop on to check the forums, not tried STP but should, as I dont have a radio in the office.

Thanks for the comments everyone, I'll knuckle down and try and pay my broadband with STP as an initial target :)

I cover my mobile bills and virgin broadband bill with my STP earnings which is pretty cool - it's even enabled me to add sky sports to my package which is great.
  • make of this what you will but i've been scouting for about half an hour and have had a succession of songs that i've felt deserved a 6 out of 10.

my accuracy started off at 94.12% and is currently now sitting at 95.21% !!

I did think about starting another account for the wife, do a bit myself, and just review everything at 6 for the first 100 tracks to see what happens :)

Problem is I'm on 8p a track and dont want to lose that 100 tracks cash :)
  • there is a thread on the STP forum where someone posts that he maintains a 95% accuracy by "never" using 5 - so it may well re-enforce the theory that 6 is the 'new' 5 maybe ?
