I've been chosen to test a product on Toluna but it was through a survey rather than the product testing page.

For anyone who is interested in making an official complaint about Toluna here is the reply I got from the UK European Consumer Centre:
Based on the information provided, I can advise you that under the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982, the trader is obliged to provide the service using reasonable care and skill. Failure to do so may constitute a breach of contract and the trader is obliged to rectify the problem within reasonable time if this is the case. Please note that the burden of proof lies on the consumer, i.e. if the trader claims you have not completed the surveys to be awarded the points, you will need to prove him otherwise to validate your claim – in this situation, this can be done by the way of producing screenshots of the screens that appear when the particular survey is completed.

The next step in dealing with your complaint is for details of your case to be shared with the European Consumer Centre where the trader is based.

In order for us to share your case with our counterparts we would like to request that you provide us with some further information/documentation. If possible, please provide us with copies of the following:

    Ø Your original registration confirmation
Ø All correspondence between you and the trader in chronological order

You can post, email, or fax this information to us. For a full list of our contact details please view the contact us page on our website.

Once we have received this information we will share it with our counterpart office, who will assess the information and attempt to contact the trader on your behalf in order to resolve this dispute.

Please be aware that we are an advice service and do not have any enforcement powers. We cannot compel the trader to accept our views or suggestions and they may choose not to respond to our letters

The last paragraph doesn't sound encouraging. I will pursue it, but not holding out much hope of getting my owed points.

As a side issue, I was checking through my email account and found several from 'Test & Vote' which is the site I joined originally before they became Toluna. In 2007 when I joined most surveys offered were for around 10,000 + points (about £2.00), compared to the average 2,000 pts these days. Deflation indeed. :(

The thing is for every one person that does not do the 2000pts surveys there are many others that will. I can understand what your saying i have done the same survey on 3 sites one paid £1 another paid 75p and another 40p. I do like the test products i do for toluna you get the product and around 3000 points when completing the end survey.

Maybe I am too cynical but can anyone else see who was chosen for the product tests? Even the ones I previously commented on as 3 names stood out as winners quite oftern I can no longer see any of the winners for any test.

    MMMMMM???????
    just came across this
Update on Technical Issues with Test Products

    By Toluna
    Dear Toluna Members,
Over the past weeks we have been experiencing a technical issue related to the selection of members for Product Testing. Due to this issue, some members have been selected as testers for several consecutive product tests.
We would like to assure all of you that we are taking this issue very seriously and are taking the appropriate course of action at this very moment, so that all the members who subscribe for product testing get the chance to be selected.
We would also like to remind you that we have a limited amount of products and a high demand for testing them so we are doing our best to give all the members that subscribe the chance to test a product of their choice.
We apologize for the inconvenience and we hope to see you soon on our Test Area!
    The Toluna Team
looks like they know you rumbled them;)

Managed to rack up over 60,000 points in just over a week, so quite chuffed as I only just joined.

Does it keep going like this? Or do surveys get less and less?

I have experienced being sent the same survey twice by different survey companies (Toluna always pay least by far), it strikes me as being not very good for the customer who has comissioned the survey. Not that I am going to start worrying about that.

But my original point was not that Toluna offer less points than other companies, but that they are offering much less points than they did in 2007 when they were still called 'Test & Vote'. I had guessed this, but the old emails in my account proved it.

Ciao went the same way, used to be a decent worthwhile site and the payments got less and less. Just my experience, nothing more nothing less. :o

Oh God! Is it worth all the hassle? Just give 'em the old Heave Ho like I have. I didn't get any of my owed points at the beginning of this month either as they promised (going back to June too) I hadn't done any of their surveys or polls for a few months (and didn't intend to until I got my owed points) and now I haven't, I've resigned (telling 'em what I think of them too!) What a relief! :T
People who seem to rack up a lot of points quickly must either be new members, or young people (they always get a lot of surveys) or do that much stuff for Toluna that they don't keep a check on their points, or just plain lucky! (They certainly seem to have a lot of free time om their hands!)
Certainly, judging by this Forum, I don't think Toluna has played fair with (most) of their members since the old Test & Vote days!
