ooh now there is no excuse for me not to start to sew things now!. I have put things off for such a long time really.! Realise I cannot do what I used to do. But these look simple enough for me. Thanks. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

If you look on organisedchristmas.com then while you are waiting for the Christmas prepartions to gear up she has a pattern for one of those cooling neckties to wear in the hot weather. It seems to be a tube made from a triangle of fabric filled with those waterabsorbing granules you get for putting in hanging basket compost. Just one seam and very simple. I imagine you could also make them as microwavable wheatbags for cold weather. Would make good stocking fillers in due course.
And, no, I am not getting ready for Christmas yet (June is too early even for me!!) but I was going through my links and tidying them up - well that's my excuse
cant find the neck tie things?0 -

I'm fed up of not being able to find nice bras in my size so I'm going to have a go at making my own. I've purchased a pattern and have ordered a few bits that I will need, as soon as they arrive I'm going to give it a try.
It looks quite easy, but it will be the first time I've followed a pattern in ages.0 -
I have made all the soft furnishing covers in my house (curtains, blinds, cushions, fitted sofa covers), and then a couple of months ago i made my own wedding dress! I only use the sewing machine for long straight bits as i am not good at fidly stuff on it and prefer to hand stitch (to be fair, my sewing machine is older than i am!).
When i have children, I want them all born in winter so i can knit them everything lol!0 -
I cannot remember who it was that lived in the Northampton area and wanted sewing machine serviced. I finally found the telephone number of the local people who service machines. So if you, (sorry I forgot!) want to make yourself known and I will send thier name and number in a PM. Not sure if I can put peoples information out on the net. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

Has anyone seen or has the book 'One Piece Wearables' by Sheila Brenna?
If so can you tell me what sizes can be made?
Many thanks....0 -
