Hi, I phoned Provident today, and the number for Vanquis is 0870 8507755. Press option 2 to discuss your account, and ask for a form to be sent out (no telephone applications).

I said I was not on the electoral roll, and they said I will be able to provide Driving License Number or Passport Number, otherwise I would have to send in other proof. :)

Looks like I might finally be able to improve my credit for a mortgage!

    Geographic number is 01634 793500 (from https://www.saynoto0870.com)
  • In case anyone is still waiting for an application form, I'll let you know it took Vanquis a month to send me my application form, but when I returned it I only had to wait about a week for them to phone me and approve me for the card.

I am now happily paying 49.9% interest and a £19 annual fee for a credit limit of £250  (no really, I am happy about that!)
  • After carefull research and practise and i have concluded the most effective way of rebuilding your credit or if u have no credit record and want credit.

    Starting point

1, Most important you need to be on the electoral roll minimun about three to six months

2, Target store cards, such as next, burton, argos etc. Scoring system very lenient you are more likely to be accepted as long as you are on the electoral roll

3, Always Apply immediately whenever their is a launch of a new product such as Skycard as most credit providers always have a quota before becoming rigourous.

4, Target pre filled application as it increases your chances of being accepted ( credit check all ready done and they want u ).

    Hope this helps.
    I owe £3233 @ 0%
  • Good post, I'll check that out. I would add apply for a mobile phone on contract. Dial-a-Phone have certain deals especially for people with Solo or Electron cards (http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/valuedeals) and they're pretty lenient - I got accepted with no problems and I have a shocking credit rating. And some of the deals aren't half bad either.
  • question for you.. I have a capital one card that fell into arrears. I have been recently making efforts to get this sorted having pulled my head out of the sand....

Is it worth offering a settlement on the fees that have been applied to the card and clearing the balance and asking them to restore the card to me?

    Anyone had success with this?
