Poor crediting rating credit cards

Hi
It might be worth pointing out:
The statements say 24 hour customer services but I understand that to talk person-to-person this is within business working hours. The 24 hours is for checking balances, last transactions ...etc.
Lost and stolen is 24 hours on a free phone number.
On the few occasions I have called Vanquis CS - I have always found them very helpful and friendly, even when requesting an increase in credit limit (manually and preferably after 3 months good use).Proudly Banking & Saving With:

Im with Fedz here, I recently got my card, and they have been nothing but helpful, and I can pay my card balance any way I choose, (in full obviously ;-) ) so im not paying interest. Incidentally, my statement says I am on a lower interest rate than I initially thought, but It doesnt really matter in my case.
Im pleased with them and their service - suprisingly so in comparison to others I have contacted in the past, and they were very quick to get everything out to me.

Tnx Jo
Yep that's something that struck me was that the interest rate (APR) was nearly half the amount I was expecting
Another thing that pleased me was that the Vanquis card is Chip & PIN where my Barclaycard (Initial) is not!
so ... 2 thumbs-up to Vanquis :TProudly Banking & Saving With:

According to vanquis a lot of people have applied for the card, and you will have to wait a few weeks to get the card?
Sent in the credit agreement and they say it could be upto three weeks before I get my card?
I lost the number to get in touch with them to see how it’s going; would they answer at night about the application? Or best to ring in the morning?I'm not poor i'm just skint0 -

Hi boogiemaster
I took the liberty of calling Vanquis to find the times for person-to-person CS. These are as follows:
Monday - Friday: 8am until 8pm
Saturday: 9am until 5.30pm
Inside and outside these hours (24 hours) you can access the automated account sytem (balance, available credit, last transaction ...etc).
Hope this helps.Proudly Banking & Saving With:

I got mine really quickly, but I did tick the response within 7days box - I figured if capital one is anything to go by, it'd be next year before I got anything back! Im also moving in the next month or so, and wanted to have it sorted out before as moving, not being on electoral roll, not having utility bills yet etc etc would be a complete nightmare to organise a card to start building credit with....
If that makes sense!!
P.S Fedz - No probs - im glad you recommended them to me, Im really pleased! And half the APR I was expecting was a fantastic bonus! Did you get the Aqua Mastercard in the end? What did they offer you?

Did you get anything back? A couple of days after getting my Vanquis Card, I had a junk mail from Aqua!! I didnt apply though, although im keeping it in my file incase I need it later, although I expect my credit rating will be much better by the time I come round to finding a new one. Bloody Capital One passing on details, im sure of it!! I decided not to go through with that application as they wanted £200 for £200 limit, which just wasnt practical at the time, and they took an age to do it too!
Also - another thing, I dont think I would go for another credit card with a high limit, I like knowing its small and cant get out of control with care, and all's I wanna do is build rating for mortgage in the next couple of years. I will change from Vanquis before 1 year though, to escape the yearly fee!

In a nutshell REFUSEDlol
I somehow knew I was doomed when I learned it was part of Halifax.
I have a full Halifax current account with £250 overdraft and earn close to £1,000 p/m paid into the account but for some reason I can't get anything out of Halifax more than that!
I have a Barclaycard with £1,100 credit limit, my Vanquis card plus 2 store cards - the store cards have zero balance and the Vanquis is paid in full monthly and the BC is maxed but gets £100+ p/m paid but I never use it as I BT the store cards to it on the 6.9% BT offer.
With all honesty I wasn't too bothered about the rejected Aqua card as I much prefer my BC and Vanquis card - I'll stick with these 2 for a good long time as they are good cards (to me) and helpful friendly CS so ...
