Hotel K+K Central in Prague is beautiful, very nice mix of Art Deco and modern architecture inside (check the pics) very central and pleasant staff. I informed them it was a special occassion stay for us, and we were given a complementary bottle of champagne on our arrival in our room - lovely!

This is where we stayed the last time we went - got it through Expedia. Super hotel just off Wencelas Square and surprisingly quiet. Loved that they provided Bucks Fizz at breakfast too - just didn't dare start drinking that early in the day! ;)
Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...
  • While staying in one Prague hotel AAAAHotels. I found out Czech people are extremely nice, helpful and sincere. I hope I’ll come back one day!
  • We're going to Prague next week and we're a little apprehensive about pickpockets, con men etc. Should we be worried?

We're staying at K+K Fenix - anybody stayed there???

Any tips about where to go, what to buy would be appreciated

As I said in an earlier post, my husband has been working and based in Prague for 7 years so I have spent a lot of time there and know it very well.

I walk around and use public transport alone without any worries. I wear a handbag that fits across my body and usually keep my hand over it when in crowds. Do not change money if you are approached in the street. The notes are usually forged. That is just common sense really.

We have never had any problems whatsoever. Oh, apart from husband's car was stolen. It was a company car and he was too idle to put in into the underground parking space. He got it back a few days later though. After that, we always parked it in the garage:rotfl:

Just be sensible as you would in any city.

Just read your question about where to go and what to buy. Where to go is all the usually tourist places of course. The Castle is a must as is Old Town Square. The best advice is just to wander around and look. It is magical.

As to what to buy, there is crystal everywhere although it is not necessarily cheap or to everyone's taste. My top tip would be to buy a pashmina or several. They are cheap, beautiful and available in a myriad of colours and designs. I have got a drawer full. They make fantastic gifts too.

  • Hi hi guys!

So i've jumped on the jet2 discount bandwagon and booked a week away in Prague for my girlfriend and I (a surprise for her 21st bday in april). Staying in what looks like a lovely 4* hotel at £40 a night inc breakfast from moneysupermarket:

    U Divadla

Anyway its got good reviews so thought why not.

Its 15 mins away from old town on tram I believe.

So anyone know good websites with travel tips for Prague?
