Can someone tell me some nice places to stay in Prague (not too expensive) as well as what areas to NOT stay in, if any?
Also, how far is the airport to the city?
Thanks.

the airport is about 40 mins away by public transport. from the airport catch bus 119 to a stop called dejvicka (i'm pretty sure its the last stop on the line.)from there catch the underground to the city. if your stopping in wencelas sqaure the stop you want is called museum. you can do all this on one ticket. you should also buy a extra half price ticket if you have a lot of luggage. it sounds complicated but is really very easy. buses and underground trains are very frequent and there are only 3 underground lines so it is very easy to figure out. i cant remember how much this costs but it is very cheap. alternatively taxis are said to be expensive and you have a chance of been ripped off.
good places to stay include near/on wencelas square (its not really a square but a very long wide street) or in the old town. near the castle is said to be nice but is a fair hike from the main attractions. hope this helps.0 -

Hi
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Prague. The rooms were clean, modern and everything you need. The location was also fab. Opposite the railway station so a short walk to everywhere you might want to go and see and of course pretty cheap! If you go I hope you all have a fab time..... It's my favourite city to visit and I'm really jealous!

Could you please let me have the info too, I'm thinking of going to Prague but do not know the best areas or where to avoid. Thanks in advance if you can help.Grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can and the wisdom to know it's me"0 -
We stayed at the Cloister Inn, five minutes walk from the Charles Bridge and the old town square, much nicer area than wencelas square in my opinion.0

City Partner Hotel Atos. We loved it here, very good value, clean, a good location. Would certainly recommend.0

agree - I'd avoid Wenceslas Square - it was full of stag/hen nights when we were there. We stayed at Hotel Merlin which was a 15 minute walk out of town but in a quiet place and not too touristy. The outside looked dreadful and was above a gym- but we were pleasantly surprised once inside. It was safe to walk around and there was lots of public transport.Bern :j0
