I had to pick the very ripe strawberries from my allotment tonight and theres loads of them!! I'm going away tomorrow so not sure what to do with them. Its too late to make jam and I don't have the sugar and jars ready, I've made some rhubarb and strawberry cordial to take with me and will take a punnet as a gift to my host. Any other ideas of what I can do quickly?
How do they freeze and whats the best way to go about it?

Yep - just hull them and freeze them. You can make jam then when you are ready. I just put mine in a tupperware and they were fine.Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0

Just wash, de-stalk and freeze. If you're planning on making jam, weigh it before you freeze them and write on the bag. Then you can use them from frozen.0

Strawberry granita is nice, sort of a strawberry sorbet. Think I got the recipe from delia will have a look. Either that or have my kids, they eat that many lol. Mind you got loads on the bushes so think I will have to freeze some as well.

If you dont' want to freeze them all or don't have space, you could always freecycle them - I am sure you would be inundated with requests! Just specify when they must be collected and I am sure someone will be able to pop round this evening.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0
