i never really eat in mcd's when i'm not pregnant - if i take children there i just get a drink, no food.

chav happy meals, what a fab idea lol! :rotfl:

mother in law says the fashion in scouseland when not wearing a headband is for the baby to have her hair scraped into a ponytail, dagenham-facelift style, she says it looks awful and very painful for the baby. the headband sounds like the lesser of the 2 evils?

Headbands on adults aren't always brilliant either - look at some of the ones Vanessa wears on Big Brother, bright pink with a huge fake pink flower.
Oh gawd, I've bought a headband in case it would be useful in hospital (pink, of course, as you'll know if you read the posts I've started on the Health board) and today at work they gave me a hairclip with two huge fake pink flowers on it ...

PLEASE tell me I'm not developing CHAV tendencies? Pretty please?

Oh savvy! Please don't wear them both together! I can't bear the thought of the headband AND the clips!!!

Headbands themselves aren't that bad, I've got one which I use when taking my make up off (and that's it!) it's just the one she was wearing was horrible!!!

I'm not overly keen on those big fake flowers anyway and those big rosette / cloth flowers that you get on clothes - YUK!

Fortunately the hairclip is already broken, and it wasn't really to my taste either, but then I don't think it was supposed to be tasteful (although I like to think my use of pink is usually tasteful if you like that kind of thing, which of course personally I do.) You should have seen the rest of the stuff they gave me! :rotfl:

OH MY GOD - what a BRILLIANT post!

I have a 20 week old daughter and, no, she does not wear headbands, does not (and will not) have her ears pieced and definately will not be queuing in Argos for a sovereign ring at any point in the forseeable future!

I HATE people presuming what sex my daugher is.... she wears blue as much as she wears pink (much to my mother in law's disgust!). I dont agree that I should dress her in 'girly' colours just so other people can tell what sex she is!
Anyway, even when she is in pink she still gets called 'he' by most people.

lol, hysterical post. Jellyhead you must be living in the only chav-free zone in the UK. Where are you, the Isle of Man? Do tell as house prices will shoot up as soon as word gets out and I want to get in before the rush.

I live near Cha(v)tham so you can understand my desperation to escape chavdom I'm sure.

lol! i live in staffordshire, hardly any chavs. apparently they mostly live on a large housing estate about a mile out of the town with its own schools, and they only venture into the main town to cash their giros and eat maccy d's :D

kit my boy was usually dressed in blue but people still thought he was a girl. he had golden ringlets (i got them cut off for his 2nd birthday, to my mum's horror lol!) and hugely long eyelashes, he was a very 'pretty' baby and was always being called 'she' :rotfl: apparently my husband was the same, so this new baby of mine doesn't stand a chance :D i remember with my boy a lot of people weren't sure if he was male or female so they would always coo to him 'and what's your name then?' so i'd say it, and they'd know what sex he was.
