I've been spending through boredom too, Ebay is really slow, as is Amazon sales. I have my vouchers but no idea what to spend them on so I spend my savings on my parents instead

I don't know hun... but the cambelt/camshaft was the reason we ended up getting rid of my old car.. we had an M reg corsa with 105k on it...worth a few hundred.... the quote we got was going to be MINIMUM 3 x what the car was worth_pale_:eek: _pale_ What happens if it costs more than the car is worth??
Hence why we ended up (pre LBM) getting a ludicrous APR (24.1%) hire purchase agreement just so ste could have a car to get to work! We got £10 scrap value in part ex for my old car...
Needless to say I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news...Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Would I get part exchange even though it needs work? There is only 72,000 on the clock.Current debt - £16,300

Depends on the damage and the cost of the work that needs doing.... to be fair only really high APR places like carcraft would take it in part ex and for scrap if it needed tonnes of work doing on it more than the car was worth. Like I said... I got £10 scrap for mine and it was still running (just!) as the cambelt hadn't yet gone but would've any second.... and just to repair it to a point where it wouldn't go completely was going to be £500....Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Thanks sar. I hate seeing the doctor for this, it's like I'm admitting I'm some sort of a screw up who can't cope with... um well, nothing really. I know that's dumb because I don't think that about other people who feel like this.
Anyway, the spending is stupid. The irony is, I spend so much more time here when I'm bored, so you'd think i'd be spending less
Martin has to put a limit on how much time I can spend on the grabbit board I think.
Soo, positive vibes for all of us today, be it cars, budgets, diets or just life. I hope we can all make it a good one.:A

I'm feeling like I need a distraction today (to stop me 'comfort' spending!!!).... had 2 unexpected taxis that I had to contribute to at the weekend which has desemated my budget. This is my first week of die hard budgeting since signing up to here last week .....
I now have £8 in my purse to last the week ... I have some food at home, and my petrol for the week already, but I've still got to buy some bread and milk etc and a birthday card out of the £8 ..... have already been looking on the Giorgio Armani sale site ... and thinking about Amazon .... aaarrrggghhh ... I've even used up all my mobile phone credit for the month .... luckily I've brought in lunch so no need to spend today other than to buy a loaf .... this is harder than it looks !!!!!Lightbulb moment: 1st Jan 2008

You are not a screw up... remember I've been there and come out the other side so I speak from experience when I say it's not you talking it's the low feelings... you're not a screw up... you're just having a low point and you'll be back to yourself in no time... just don't beat yourself up over stuff you can't help. Thanks sar.
