Morning all... how's everyone doing? Got any plans for today? Nothing exciting for me today, although our band practice last night was great fun even though one of our guitarists wasn't there as he'd hurt his back.. the singer we auditioned was really good and really enthusiastic and we're all getting together again next sun when hopefully our guitarist will be better so we can properly practice... the singer has requested that we have a go at Domination by pantera though. Should be interesting! Best get learning it!! lol!

I'm waiting for the garage to call, the tensioner and cam belt on my car stopped working on saturday.....
I wasn't moving (still had the hand break) so hopefully I will get lucky and I wont need major surgery for the engine!!!
I feel sick.Current debt - £16,300

Fiestas are resilient little cars Lucy, the cam belt was the only big thing to go wrong on my mum's and she had it for nine years. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

I know I am just hoping that no damage was done to the engine. Everyone seems to think that because I wasn't moving I will be lucky an just need the tensioner and belt replacing.
I can get my hands on about £600, otherwise I am going to have to beg the bank!Current debt - £16,300

I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you Lucy, I really hope the car bill is not too bad. I'm off to see the doctor in an hour to get my head sorted, hopefully she'll just give me a script for a new one and be done with it.
I've got to sort out my spending this week too. I've been spending money like it's my last day on earth and it's got to stop, my savings are going in the wrong direction and it's no good at all. I'm finding I'm spending out of total boredom though, I'm just not used to this not working lark and I'm not sure I'm any good at it.
So, it's all rock n roll here kids

Well if you weren't moving the revs won't have been high so the damage might be limited but the trouble with cambelts is if they go then the pistons usually end up tearing the engine apart... so even at slow revs the pistons are still moving and could still damage the engine.... BUT as the cambelt itself hasn't snapped you might have been very lucky and just need to cambelt tensioner replacing.....I know I am just hoping that no damage was done to the engine. The cambelt snapped on SIL's partners car.... they had no choice but to get it fixed as it was on finance... cost them 4k because 8 of the 12 pistons had smashed their way through the engine block and he essentially had to have an engine rebuilt.. :eek:Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

RAC man (I am SO glad I pay for at home now!!) said that the flood wouldn't have anything to do with the cam belt. Which is nice as I at least know that it's not my fault!!!
Toto - I hope that they can help, I think I might be going back myself, I've really not dealt with this very well. I spend to when I am down, which is going to make this interesting as I definately can't afford it!!Current debt - £16,300
