I was in and out of there for about an hour today, trying to stick my rear view mirror on, and nothing would work.Came away with some so called super dooper glass glue that i'm gonna try tomoz.God they were so unhelpful, didn't even help at all:rolleyes:

This is the stuff that worked for me - it's the Poodle's Parts!

  • Most likely the mirror isn't sticking due to 'dirt'. Buy some 'meths' (metholated spirit), somewhere like halfords or b&q will sell it, get a clean cloth and wipe over the mirror and glass, i.e. the two surfaces you are trying to stick together.
Then the sticky pads will work, hold the mirror in place for a minute and it'll be fine

I need a wheel spoke brush the rubber tip of my megs brush is falling off.

As for the interior mirror, take your car and its mirror to autoglass or whoever your car insurance recomend when you have a glass problem. I used to have a car and the mirror fell off with the bit attached to the screen they fixed it back on for me no charge.

You'll probably start to notice more and more clearance items instore from now on.

Previously, all damaged stock and returns were sent back to head office and a huge staff sale would take place every now and then in the warehouse.

Staff could buy stuff for silly money!!

(I used to work at HO)

However, this has now ceased recently due to an investigation which discovered some staff were allegedly marking up perfectly good stock, reserving it and then buying it at the sale.

Some jobs have been lost and the head of security is in the middle of a legal battle against his former employers.

So - I would now expect to see the damaged stock remaining in store and eventually being sold on to the general public.

    Bonus for us!

Still things to be had at Halfords...

a couple of days ago I got a Plantronics bluetooth handsfree earpiece for £3, its new but box was a bit tatty. Its an older larger style one but fine for occasional use!

Today I saw they had Rolson 45watt spray guns for £5. I paid 4-5 times as much for one in the past, if you have lots of fence and shed to protect in the spring these are brilliant, way quicker than brushes (just remember to water down the preservative a bit).

Also big (1 litre I think) bottles of that pour and shine stuff, you just add some to a bucket of water and pour it over the car slowly for an instant waxing - £3
  • I have never seen a real bargain in Halfords.
