    Couple of questions:
    1) How much hassle will it be to transfer from my Halifax account, to my Icesave one?
It will probably involve filling out a transfer form with details of your old ISA and posting it to either Halifax or Landsbanki. Not really a lot of hassle.
    2) I'm already pretty much at the FSA gaurantee limit with Icesave, but this account is awesome, and I've been really happy with them so far. Just how risky is it going to be to put all of my money in there with them?
I don't believe the Compensation Scheme has ever been called into use for money in deposit accounts, but it is nevertheless possible one day it might. It really depends whether or not you are willing to risk whatever savings you have above the limit, even if the risk is very small.

    Hi there

I agree this looks a pretty good one, does that mean that mine and my husbands Nationwide ISA's that we have been paying into this year and previous years (it's the only ISA's we have ever had) which is now at this years limit can be transferred immediately to Icesave or do we have to wait till April?

You can transfer them immediately. In fact, it's better to avoid transferring them around April because that is the time ISA managers are normally busiest and delays are common.
  • Sorry for being clueless, but I am new to ISAs and still don't get it :o I opened a mini cash ISA with YBS in November; can I transfer that into the Icesave?

I just opened an Icesave ISA, just need to transfer in my funds from NS&I now, so we will see how long that takes. Very pleased not only because the rate is good but because I will be able to transfer much more easily from my Icesave savings account. Well done Icesave. :T

When we transfer into Icesave from our Nationwide ISA's do we transfer the whole lot or leave £1 in to keep the accounts open?

I took this up with ICESAVE a few hours ago and they seemed to agree that its a bug as they have used the same deceleration rules for transfers as they have for new ISA customers.
The guy on the phone said he will report it.

I was going to open an Icesave ISA but am concerned at the declaration that I have to agree to. Does anybody have any explaination what the last part means? Surely I dont have to buy one from them every year, if this is the case then they are being a bit underhand after all some other comapny might have better rates next year so I will not be investing in Icesave if this is so.

"I apply to subscribe for a Mini Cash ISA for the tax year 2007/08 and each subsequent year until further notice".

I have emailed Icesave but I dont know when I will get a reply.
