Unless this is cutting edge technology there is no reason why they couldn't be manufactured in the UK, unless the weak dollar of late has put paid to this...

Er - The weak dollar would make them cheaper in UK.
  • Don't forget to assemble it before you pop off. If you leave it to 'er in doors you'll never get buried :D

Hi Geordie its er'indoors doing the planning:D .Its hubby who will not talk about this kind of stuff:rolleyes: .
I think your right there is no legal reason it has to be a coffin only tradition.
In the past only the wealthy had them the poor lower orders had a shroud (if funeral cost keep going up we will be going back to that ).
I like the idea of a body bag but agree biodegradable would be much better.
I could be very sick about this and say its a shame there are no large green cones for the dissposal.GreenConeGarden.lg.jpg

Yes, my point exactly. It may be cheaper for them to manufacture over there and ship, rather than have to pay to manufacture in the UK.

IOn that case take the easy way out, plan to pop of before him and let him sort your coffin out. If nothing else it'll give you an incentive to keep him alive as long as possible :D

Yep, after all coffins are just for show on the day. Nobody sees them after that.

You could use the freezer at home Mad...cost about £40 a year or free if enough room for the normal stuff.
Set against , say, £1500 funeral costs. :-)

You could also have a home burial, assuming you own your own house/land of course and also subject to certain rules and regs, but it certainly is possible!
