Hi Geordie its er'indoors doing the planning:D .Its hubby who will not talk about this kind of stuff:rolleyes: .
I think your right there is no legal reason it has to be a coffin only tradition.
In the past only the wealthy had them the poor lower orders had a shroud (if funeral cost keep going up we will be going back to that ).
I like the idea of a body bag but agree biodegradable would be much better.
I could be very sick about this and say its a shame there are no large green cones for the dissposal. Some of the best lessons we ever learn,we learn from our mistakes and failures.the error of the past is the success and wisdom of the future. :j0 -
Er - The weak dollar would make them cheaper in UK.
Yes, my point exactly. It may be cheaper for them to manufacture over there and ship, rather than have to pay to manufacture in the UK.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -

IOn that case take the easy way out, plan to pop of before him and let him sort your coffin out. If nothing else it'll give you an incentive to keep him alive as long as possibleI think your right there is no legal reason it has to be a coffin only tradition.

Yep, after all coffins are just for show on the day. Nobody sees them after that.
That's a thought, how long will a body take to rot down?0 -
This is from Environ in Leicester. Next day delivery and very realistic. I think I paid £80 inc VAT and delivery

In the really old days you used to be able to rent a coffin that had a trapdoor in the bottom...you called also rent a mortcloth to cover it to make it look nice for the trip to the churchyard..0

You could use the freezer at home Mad...cost about £40 a year or free if enough room for the normal stuff.
Set against , say, £1500 funeral costs. :-)0 -
You could also have a home burial, assuming you own your own house/land of course and also subject to certain rules and regs, but it certainly is possible!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
