OH wants black floor ties for our kitchen & being a boring sort, I'm not sure. I did fancy a black worktop, I'm just not sure about the floor.
Anyone who has got black tiles care to comment? (A pic would be brilliant?) What colour of grout did you use?

I have black Karndean tiles in our kitchen, this is with beige-ish kitchen units and worktops, works very well.0

My sister has black gloss laminate(?).
It looks fantastic.de do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar0 -
Our last house, in the kitchen, we had white (with a wisp of grey) as the main covering. Then the black were a row of 4 in line with either side of the central island & another row of 5 in front of woodburner, which was black, then another row of 4 seperating the dining area from the kitchen.
Grey grout, wickes cheap tiles.
Sounds a bit weird reading that lot, but looked pretty good & was set off well with 9 chrome downlighters, aluminium blinds, with the gloss black units, pink walls & purple chimney !
No pics though, Mrs V 'lost' them all!
& we'll have black granite in the entrance hall & en-suite, in the new house.

Yeah I have black laminate flooring and it sets things off really well and is so easy to clean and as said above beige gives a lovely contrast, especially with our mock granite worktops0

And in answer to the question no-one else has answered, you can get very dark grey or black grout IIRC.A house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

We were going to have black floor tiles, but were advised that they were high maintainance as they show up every bit of dirt. (We opted against the tiles, but we did go for a black granite sink and If that's anything to go by I'm glad we did!!0

My work has black granite ones in the ladies, they look fantastic.
I have pale cream in my kitchen, normal tiles. I was going to get hi-gloss porcaline, but didn't because of them being slippy.
I was only saying to DH today, I wished I had got them.0 -
my neighbour has black slate on the floor, beech worktops and lots of steel for splashback, fridge, cooker etc. The steel is a bit too much like hard work for me but the beach and slate are very easy to care for - not the cheapest of course but the slate looks and feels lovely!a wombling we will go...0

Thanks everyone for your thoughts, it all helps.
We're off out today to look at tiles, OH reckons he saw black ones on sale in B&Q so we'll go have a look see.0 -
Just to say we have black porcelain floor tiles in our kitchen and conservatory, they are a godsend for me as we have 2 dogs and 2 cats, so on a practical point they work for me, I don't find they show every speck of dirt, just the opposite really, we used grey grout, working with black grout proved to be very very messy and harder to clean off, as my husband discovered when putting up black tiles on two walls under the window in the conservatory
Hope you get what you want. Another point Karndean is very good too, we have Kardean in our hallway, I find it is warmer under foot than tiles, it just depends on what you really want i guess.
Good Luck and happy tile hunting.... We got our tiles from topps tiles0
