    a Pre Paid label for you to return the Fur Real Jungle Cat to us as discussed. When the item arrives here I will investigate with the manufacturer.

    I’m glad your daughter has suffered no ill effects from choking on the screw.

    All our toys are tested and passed by independent UKAS accredited laboratories before being certified as safe, as well as being tested to our own strict set of Safety and Reliability Standards.

    I would like to thank you for your valuable feedback on your experiences with this toy. Feedback both positive and negative, helps us to better appreciate how children interact with our toys.

    Since our principal concern as a toy manufacturer is to bring happiness and pleasure to all of our customers and not disappointment, we will arrange for you to be sent, without prejudice, an alternative product, which will arrive by separate post. Please check out www.hasbro.co.uk/

    I would report to Trading Standards first. The Trading Standards website says:
    Offences

    If the seller is in business (rather than a private seller), he may have committed a criminal offence if he:

    sells goods which are unsafe;
    If you feel that any of the above could apply, you should report the matter to your local Trading Standards Service before you return to the trader.

    I have to be honest I'm glad I don't have small kids these days. 10/15 years ago when my kids were small toys did seem safe. These days there are some many scares on toys it's incredible :confused:and terrible....It's also impossible not to buy stuff made in China were (so it would seem) things aren't as they should be in the health and safety department.:naughty:
  • Did anything come of this in the end?

    My daughter got the fureal guinea pig for Christmas sowill have to check this out. She is nearly 6, but still , doesnt' mean she can't choke on something.

    Speaking of ages, I have a 20 month old and it's a nightmare with 2 older children. He wants everything they have, especially my 6 year old and I can't literally hide everything from him, or keep it out of his way, nor can I watch him every minute of the day if he's playing with them. It is very difficult.
    My DD has lots of tiny polly pocket things and she can't really play with them, because he wants them and picks them all up.

    Anyway, bit off topic, glad your DD was ok OP. I remember when I was a toddler, choking on some large size screws from my cot!!! Shows how easy it is.
