Options
im sorry if its in the wrong place but i really need to vent
please if any on your childeren have any furreal pets keep an eye out and keep checking the toys for loose screws

at christmas my daughter was brought a furreal pet the (jungle cat)
today i thought she was coughing but it became obveious that she was infact choking after several hard smacks to her back she coughed/sicked up a small shiny screw the only thing she was playing with was the furreal pet and now its head has gone all floppy witch it was not like it before

im sooooo angry as i thought that these toys were supposed to go through tough saftey tests and quality control i mean if i was not paying her any attention she could have god forbid chocked to death

i have sent hasbro.co.uk a email and am debating on wether on not i should send hasbro.com one or where to go next

and what makes you laugh is on the hasbro.com site there is this big thing on saftey

You should feel good about buying Hasbro toys and games!

They'll state this because of small parts and the possibility of them becoming detached -yes, though usually it's 3+ years.

Glad your daughter is ok. My daughter got the monkey for Christmas so thanks for letting us know. I will check on hers.

I take the small parts to be accessories/components (ie Lego, Playmobil) etc, not that the screws come out! Definitely keep up the complaint, particularly as so much chinese made stuff for well known companies is being withdrawn after sale for this and that safety problem. The company themselves may have to review their suppliers. Glad your daughter is ok.

There was a scary programme on tv the other week about children's toys. You know the EU standards mark? It means nothing. It showed people accepting deliveries and when they asked about paperwork confirming the standards of the toys they were asked if they wanted one or not! One of the nasty ones was kids who have swallowed magnets from toys which had then been attracted to each other inside the child by ripping through their insides.

I'll try to remember the name of the programme.

It was How Safe Are Your Christmas Toys? shown on Channel 4 - Dispatches.
