Halfords Trade Card

Hmm, ok cool I will definately look into it. Euro prices don't overly impress me, I have seen reasonable prices around. I did see some good brakes on ebay - solid with grooves and drilled holes etc, but they are like £75 including pads, so if I can save some money somewhere it would be great.0

Bit over the top for a 1.5d, unless you have a lot of long roads you reguarly drive down.
I just found the Halfords prices, it's £24 for brakes and pads, and £18 for a set of glow plugs.
Wiper and filter are about £3 each or thereabouts.0 -
I couldn't find the brakes on the halfords page.
Nor did I see glow plugs. The best price I found was £34 for a set of 4 NGK ones.

The difference with that air horn is it uses 20amps. If your horn fuse is already 20a and supplies no other circuits you can just hook it straight up with some spade connectors (luckily this was the case on my car). If it's 15a and supplies no other circuits, unless you keep your hand on the horn for over 30 seconds at a time, it might be okay to chance it and uprate the fuse to 20a (I would not recommend doing this for any other circuit on a car [warning melting wires and fire]). Anything less really needs a relay to provide the extra power. The single membrane type horns should be ok to wire straight in no issues.
The Halfords trade card is handy to get the bits and bobs "now" rather than wait for delivery etc, especially at 7pm on weekdays or on a Sunday. For my car the oil filter is still quite expensive (about £7 on trade card) whereas it's under £3 delivered at ECP, not sure why as they're usually quite a bit cheaper for other cars. It's a bit pot luck because the trade card prices are not published, but you can use the list shown previously as a rough guide. You can take bits and bobs to the till and ask them to check the prices on trade (need to hand them your card still), but I don't like to hassle them lol.
Drilled disks are bad (can crack with heat).
Also try checking prices at German Swedish and French (GSF), who specialise in cars from said countries.0 -
You need to go in and get the parts of the shelf, they're not on the website. The glowplug price was halfords own brand. GSF prices are good, they're cheap in the first place, my trade doesn't give me that much off, they're still similar to halfords trade though, and halfords are just round the corner. Halfords parts are generally good quality, which is important.0

Honestly look around:rotfl:... Price up bits locally and not @ halfords etc...
If I was to launch the "SassyFandangoSave" card tomorrow and for example Sell brake pads for Kia Prides that were £100 a set but to the holder of a "SassyFandangoSave" card they were £40 people would be having kittens because of the 60% saving and queing up with their blag payslips......
GSF do more than a little bit off for trade aswell.....0 -
Sigh, I am new to shopping for car parts lol.. I spot a cheap mintex brake disk and pad set but then I don't know if the pads will go in my calipers. I assume they are the standard ones that come with a pug 106 but I dunno lol.0
