I tried to take advantage of this offer but was told it was not available as I don't have all the services, at least I think thats what she said. Its annoying because when we signed up we where unable to take them all as they were not available in our area.
I don't like Sky and would be happy to abandon and take up freeview it if it wasn't for my husband and sons addition to Sci-fi.

    Sky offers are confunsing.

You can only take up a Sky offer if Sky send you personally a letter or postcard. If the offer isnt on your account then you wont be able to take the offer up.

I telephoned about the 3 months half price sky movies offer and was told that there was nothing showing on my account and to ring back in 2 days. I re-telephoned and still nothing. In the end I gave up and paid full price for 1 month over Xmas.

Be careful when attempting to take up offers

I have left SKY but got caught out with their summer offer, which was 3 months movies for a £1 a month. You have to give a months notice to cancel so I guess with this unless you phone up straighway and give notice you will end up paying for the second month befoe you can change back to your previous package. Beware!

Hmm, I thought it was for everyone on the basic package which is what I get, although I think its the first offer I've ever received.

What I really want is to get the one off fee for Sky+ reduced, anyone had any success with that? I really want Sky+ but £130 seems a bit steep.

I heard about cheapr SKY+ from my wife's work colleague. She said that she intended to cancel her subscription - worked long hours, unable to catch the programmes she wanted and Sky+ too expensive. Lo and behold they offered her a reduced rate for Sky+ (I think about £65)! As soon as I heard this I also tried the same story and was offered Sky+ for the same amount. Worth a try surely.

There is a thread on here about sky+.

We got it for free at the beginning of Dec. Basically said the same as the other person, that we were out a lot and missed loads of programmes. I was offered the deal at the time of Sky+ for £49 (?) but said it was too expensive, so she went away, checked with her line manager and came back saying they could do it for free.

I must say it is brilliant being able to record, pause etc. :T

Don't know if they are still doing this tho

Sky wins the Debenhams prize for diabolical customer service. Twice they have charged me without notifying me of the price first. If you can, get Freeview.

I got caught out too with the summer offer too, when I called up to take advantage of the summer offer I asked the sky sales person for the date I would need to cancel by to avoid further charges, & wrote this (for once) on my calendar, when I called to cancel,I was told I was too late & should have cancelled earlier, they took a the movie package price of £36.00 from my account.
I ended up cancelling sky over it & they offered me lots of different packages at a reduced rate not to cancel.
I did cancel & havent missed it(dont watch sport) got freeview which is fine for me.
  • I have recently purchased SKY + but the box did not make the right connections following the engineers visit. I rang SKY on the 0870 number for which I was charged premium rates only to be left on hold for an age before hanging up. I rang again with the same results and so I then decided to press the option to Purchase a Box Office Movie, GUESS WHAT connected straight away. I told them the problem and they told me it was sorted, wrong again, so I went through the same procedure until it was eventually sorted. I object to being charged premium rates to sort out their problem, so I would encourace everyone who needs to call Sky to press the box office option to get through and get an instant response and hopefully block their Box Office lines until they put enough staff on the technical lines to sort out queries.
  • this offer worked for me thanks
