yes that is normally the way it works, as they bill u a month in advance, so next months bill will have the charge credited back to your account, so i believe anyway, HTH Dave.Take every day as it comes!!0 -
Don`t trust sky when it comes to cancelling,
I cancelled well in advance,on a similar offer a year or so back, then they had
the audacity to charge me the full price for the month ahead
I`ll never go back now :mad:Mk Chris0 -
ive been with sky for years put my cancellation in which is due to be cut off tomorrow, i called cancellations dept to see if they can offer my any deals to stay with them and they said no. Does anyone know of any way i can get a good deal with them? or is it a case of calling back to speak to someone else another day?:T This site is great! Thanks to Martin Lewis & everyone who participates and helps so many people! Without you all, where would we be ??:T
:A The days are long, but the years are short! Cherish every moment, you blink that moment is gone forever  :A0 -
In reply to the mentions of how Sky work out the billing, i have had many arguments with Sky over how they , in my opinion , deliberately confuse the issues as much as possible to con people. The last time i complained i spoke to 4 different people and not one of them could explain how they had worked the bill out and i ended up with a refund and free Sky + after i said i would close my account.
I took up another offer of half price Sports package in September last year but insisted on the billing being explained in advance and this was how they worked it out ....
Sept £19 ( existing package)
Oct £19
Nov £39.69
Dec £31.34
Jan £36 ( normal price for Sports)
Why they can't just say £27.50 for 3 months is beyond me.:cool:WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
Blimey what was that ?
That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.0 -
DONT DO IT !!!
Unless you want letters threatening bailifs and poor credit scoring even after you think you have cancelled. These people are expert pr*ts. You cant contact them apart from premium rate phone calls and they will keep you hanging on the phone.....
I have warned you:mad:0 -
Here is a landline number for Sky: 01506 831781

I wonder why I never have gotten a Sky offer in nearly a year as a customer? We have the 6 Mix (I think it's called). We have everything but sports and movies, I think. I would take the offer of a movie trial if it ever came!
I do know Sky customer service is awful from past experience, but I'm willing to risk it as I'll call back often enough to deal with the problem (and have Sky Talk, so no extra charges for the phone calls!).0 -
Agree 100% - Sky have just about the worst customer service i have experienced. Just watch their offers. They rang me last year offering me the full package for 3 months for £30/month. They then took about £75 out of my account for the first month, and tried to take £46 for the next 2. After writing to them and getting no reply and then phoning them they said they had no record of the promotion. They agreed to credit the first month's overpayment back to my Sky account but not my bank account which was extremely annoying over Christmas! They never even apologised or anything and cut me off after passing me around for 25 mins. After writing again they did give me another credit of £19.99 for the 'inconvenience' caused.
Unfortunately in my area there is no cable or Freeview coverage, but if i had an alternative i'd cancel tomorrow.0
