Where did I go wrong - my 3 have santa sacks not stockings and the older they get the harder they are to fill!!

Eldest one will be 14 this year and I always buy socks and boxers when they're in the sales. A good place to try if you've one near you is a NEXT clearance shop. Got a pair of necklaces for about £2.50 not as good as the £50 one he was after last year but excellent value for money, also some robot kits for £5 down from about £25, foam disc shooters £2.99 from £12, simson socks and playing cards, lynx shower gel while it was BOGOF, one of those radio alarm clocks £1.05 from Argos clearance sale and loads of other bits and pieces I've picked up during the year that I cant remember at the moment. :D
  • Have found some good slippers (mule type) £2 in tesco - cotton lined with cotton jersey uppers but proper soles - not those fabric ones that disintegrate the first time you go outside in the rain to put the bin out. Navy black and grey. brill - nice big package too to stuff the stocking out a bit

    ;D
  • I've just got the Christmas next catalogue, it's FULL of small things perfect for teenege boys such as sim card back up keyring, camera keyring, tiny remote control car, https://www.next.co.uk you can order online, they have pages of the stuff.
Some is over the £5 budget but would be something they would keep.
    Waddle you do eh?
  • well i'm 24 and my ma still does one for me... :o:o

just puts in sill stuff like pots of bubble blowy stuff, novelty pens, funny bath plugs, nail varnish, daft hair bobbles, sweets, plastic bananas (?) tiny jewellary.

half the fun is imaging all the fun she has had collecting these little treats.... ;D

    lovely!! ::)
Once the realization is accepted that even between the closest human beings infinite distances continue, a wonderful living side by side can grow, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole against the sky.
  • with 5 children im always looking for things to put in a santa sack!
one thing i put in is a kelloggs selection of cereals. The pack of 8 ,they cost about £2 each.
another thing is a cake mix box ,(the ones with cartoons on it) the kids like to have these as we dont bake that often!

BHS have got various bits and bobs and I saw four of those metal "get the bits apart without bending anything" puzzles for £5 today. They were packaged in one box, but they're coming out of that: one in each stocking and one to keep their father quiet!
Signature removed for peace of mind
  • there are loads of brilliant website out there which have stocking filler sections or even set their sections in price ranges ie 0-£10,£10-£20 etc. for instance
    https://www.iwantoneofthose.com
    https://www.gadgetshop.com
    https://www.gadgetpages.com
    https://www.boysstuff.co.uk
and even the fhm website has a section on gadgets etc
what can I say I know my brother likes these things and even my sister so have a look
  • I went to Au natrual and got my son a great football domino game for 45p. They had quite a bit of stuff with a lot of discount on ;D ;D

I personally am having a problem doing a stocking for my 5 year old son.

He already has an infinate amount of cars, planes, crayons, pencils, videos, dinosaurs, pens and most giftty type stuff for stockings is geared up for girls (bit like kids clothes as well, or am I the only person who thinks that when you go in a clothing area for kids the girls area is bigger than the boys and with alot more choice!?!).

At this rate he is going to end up with mainly sweets and chocolate!
