ebuyer - is it just me???

  • I've bought a lot of stuff from ebuyer before with no major problems. My current order seems to have dissappeared within their system but I'm onto them with that one!

As for that network cable..... surely it's not up to Ebuyer to tell you what kind of cable you require for your exact situation? Sorry if that seems harsh..

Ben, they said that they ordered crossover, but got straight through.
And they wouldnt know that just by looking, so I think that you can blame Ebuyer for that 1.
    Be nice

No major problems so far...... :-/
  • I placed my first order with them last week for a Robosapien at £42.54 plus vat and postage (and vat on the postage - took me a while to figure that one out! Never come across that before... does any other retailer do that?) Anyway the total came to £55.86. On checking my credit card account today the transaction was for exactly £56. It's only 14p, but hey, it's the principle! Is it a term and condition that they round up?? Haven't emailed them about it yet, but will get round to it at some point.

On another matter, they're supposed to be delivering on Wednesday but I have to work in the morning and am going away for Xmas (nowhere exciting, just the rellies :-X) in the evening so NEED to have it that day (good planning, I know). What happens if they try and deliver when you're not in, do you normally have to wait til at least the next day to collect or have re-delivered?
Is it possible to contact the courier and discuss a delivery time?

Must be more organised next year... ;)
If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...

    Hello

I'm an IT consultant and I use eBuyer a lot as they're oftenb cheaper than trade suppliers.

They do have a lot of 'crab' but they have a lot of great prices too.

I recommend you research your products carefully and then see if eBuyer do them, you can save a lot of money.

Also, be sure to check & read carefully customer reviews. Whilst eBuyer remove a lot of negative reviews, customers write reviews with good ratings but noting the faults - you should try to do the same.

Now that DABS has been sold off and all the prices have gone sky higy, eBuyer is probably the most reliable cheap IT retailer honestly.

I have had terrible problems over recent weeks with this shoddy company. There customer support is pretty will no existent.

They took my money on the 12th December but haven't supplied the goods, nor let me now that the delivery of the goods were going to be late.

After sending these morons a recorded letter demanding my money back for goods that haven't been delivered I then eventually get an email on the 5th Jan informing that they apologies for the delay due to Christmas and deliver will be forthcoming.

I managed to eventually cancel the goods on there web site (They prevented me from doing that before) and have cancelled my account.

I found a much better replacement company Novatech that sent the goods a day early than expected at reasonable prices.

Its worth going for a company that has good customer support EBuyer have none of these attributes, stay clear. They have no phone support, Enotes don't get answered, no fax number. The only way to communicate with these idiots is by Royal Fail.

No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you
  • E-buyer are one of the cheapest IT suppliers around ;D
One of the reasons is they do not have the same staffing levels to cope with customer services i.e. lower overheads.
The savings are passed onto their customers.
I use them professionally and personally and yep their after sales support sucks but their prices do not, saved a lot of money buying from them and for 95% of the time there are no issues.
If something goes wrong its a matter of waiting around, they always seem to get there in the end...eventually ::)

I have used them for some time their prices are great their customer service stinks.

The bottom line is they are ok as long as you dont have a problem. enotes are a joke and dont even try to get them on the phone.

I had one real problem over the years which took a while to sort out.

Recently i bought an external hard drive caddy and the power supply fizzes a bit now and then but i would rather live with it then go through the hassle of trying to send it back.....got a spare somewhere anyway.

These days i take a long look around before dealing with them and thankfully other companies are becoming as competitive.
  • Hi,

Ive just registered for the sole purpose of adding my experience to this thread.

Ive used ebuyer several times in the past and theyve always exceeded my expectations.

However.... This time is a different matter.

I Placed an order on 15th december, was charged immediately, and promised delivery by 22nd....
    Thats right - Nothing yet...

Theyve scrapped all customer support phone numbers and email, and the only way to get in touch with them is this daft 'enotes' system!

I left a note but it was deleted, so I left another one on the 30th december, and looks like its not even been read!

Whats more, you can only have one note open at once, you cant send another note until the latest one has been read!

Leaves me stuck in the middle of nowhere with no one to contact!

Its only £20odd quid but its the principle... plus it was an xmas pressie so was a bit embarrasing on xmas day!

Im soo !!!!!! off that they'l take the money but not reply when i try to ask them a question.

    Grr...

So with no phone numbers, no email adresses, and notes that arent answered... What do i do?

I don't believe eBuyer are that bad.

I certainly have some trouble with their couriers, citylink but eBuyer prices are great.

You have to choose non shoddy items.

Novatech, recomended here, are far more expensive.

I use trade suppliers like Midwich & Ideal, eBuyer are usually cheaper.

Anyone would be well advised to check prices on eBuyer, stay clear of old expensive stock at PCWorld.
