ebuyer - is it just me???

Hi there
I placed my second order with ebuyer at the beginning of the month, but unfortunately have needed to return some of the items - one faulty, the other an incorrect order (my mistake - but packaging untouched and currently within the 28 day limit).
However, now that they have tried to go 'all digital written' in their communications (i.e. have shut down their call centre) it's impossible to get any response out of them. I want to return the good, but can't get a RMA number because NO ONE IS REPLYING.
I have since sent another two RMA requests through, and even posted one of their crummy 'enotes' - but have been met with a wall of silence.
So the answer is: is it just me? Or are others experiencing this. I was going to buy a digital camera from them, but will probably now choose Pixmania... and also would have chosen them for the LCD screen I wanted.
Too bad, ebuyer, you've just gone and 'saved money', but lost a good customer (who would have spent hundreds a year with you).

I brought a network switch off ebuyer and City-Link (the curriers they use) lost my parcel! They usually take about 3-5 days to answer a enote which is far too long i think. I finally got it sorted and they should be claiming for the loss from City-Link now i hope. I wont order from them again after this.
eBuyer are cheap yes, but now I think its worth paying a bit extra to get it from dabs.
Hope this helps.0 -
Several months ago I had a prob with an eBuyer motherboard - eNotes and replacement handled very fast. However, more recently eNotes are taking much longer to get a reply to.
Staff cuts, I expect.
They're doing some dirt cheap household appliances these days. You gotta be fast though.

I have just bought a PC, Monitor and Printer from them..
I like their site and order tracking system and their prices are competitive.
On the downside the Norton antivirus was 18 months out of date. Even though I was supposed to have a 90 day trial version the software said this had expired. Needless to say when connected to the university network in order to download antivirus softwate I got a deadly virus that did not allow any .exe programs to run.
Oh and Citylink are the country's first couriers who insist on trying to deliver when they know you are not available. Paying a delivery charge for the privilege of a 30 mile round trip to collect an item could only happen in the UK.0 -
Just ordered expensive and cheap item for delivery Monday, both showing as lots of stock. They seem to have taken payment and all of a sudden no stock of the expensive item for 7+ days, but cant cancel as the cheap item is already being processed. This is quite unacceptable and based on the above, I have no hope of resolving this quickly.
Keep away !!!!0 -
Thats odd, a couple of months ago when placing an order for several items the whole order was held up due to one item being out of stock. I think I could have canceled the whole order as well due to that. I know they have been updating their systems so maybe thats changed.
Also on one of my orders they hadn't delivered all the cables I ordered. After waiting about four of five days they eventually answered my enote and then said it had been resolved when it hadn't. Following another enote they then sent the cables on and gave me free postage on my next order. They don't give you great service when something goes wrong unfortuately and it would be better to talk to somebody about it but their prices are cheap.

Yes, super cheap, but also super rubbish support.
Bought a DVD player from them, but drawer would not come out more than 1 inch, just stopped and juddered a lot.
Took ages to get RMA, now they say there was no fault (magically repaired itself no doubt) and are trying to charge me to send it back to me.
I will never order from them again, and have warned friends never to use them.
Many other agree.

Some cynical people might even call them crooks.
Not me though!0 -

I hate ebuyer
I purchased a crossover cable last year to conect my daughters laptop to the internet spent over 40 hours trying to get it to work.
I then called in a computer network expert,he took one look at the cable and said they have sent you a straight through cable instead, this is only for a router !!
I rang ebuyer and complained about waisted time calling in an expert ect.
there answer was send it back we will send out a replacment free of cost ?
The cost of the cable was 79 pence.
never again ebuyer stink.I say what I like, I like what I say!0 -
Just to balance it a bit, i have bought 2 separate items from them with no problems at all. As with, so far, all the items bought on line-some have better systems for tracking than others.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I've bought loads of stuff from ebuyer, I've found them cheap and reliable.
The only grumble is that had to return a faulty TV Tuner card which took around 2 weeks to get through the RMA process.0
