Why Does Ebay Keep blocking Our Accounts?

Hi all,
Hope Everyone is Well.
It's a strange one this. My family has a few accounts with ebay and we have had no problems until recently.
We tend to ask a fair few questions as what we buy depends on condition/additional information etc, however recently ebay keep blocking our account (not all at the same time) stating out account has been hacked.
Blatently the account in question has not been hacked and I cant understand why they keep doing this.
I have been on live help asking but they are insistant that the account had been blocked and for security they had to block the account but its rubbish.
Does this happen to anyone else.
Sometimes ill send just 2 or 3 questions and they will block the account stating hacking, right in the middle of me signed in.
Is this an ip issue as I use two pc's to ebay (home PC and laptop)
Its beginning to annoy me as they rese it within 5 minutes, however then lock it the next time im on
Please help

in all my time on these forums thats probably the most unique problemi've heard of! I doubt anyone on here could get to the root of the problem for you as only eBay know the truth0

I would try posting here:

It gets a lot of traffic from experienced ebayers, and even the odd ebay staff member. My TV is broken!

Thanks for the comments guys.
I know what you mean, its the strangest thing ever.
The thing is im a genuine, honest person. For some strange reason ebay have decided that everytime activity occurs on my account, it must be a hacker. Even though I sign in no problems and use buy it nows(Paying instantly), bid as usual etc etc.
I have tried ebay live help but its like talking to a robot. I explain to them that it wasnt a hacker as they are blocking my while I am logged but they reply with silly things. Its like they are reading from a script and not allowed to deviate.
I have even tried setting up a new account. Which they blocked within a day. I even had to send them proof of my identity, to which they reinstated me. Then block me again.
I know im clutching at straws but if anyone can help id really appreciate it0 -
just a thought that accured to me have you recently moved to your current address (within a few years) does ebay have your address or maybe even your post code on a black list as either a previous resident or maybe a neighbour may have a delinquent account and as your account is registered with an address this may cause problems.
also do you use a wireless network is it secure (look at other forum entries to check as a fraudster may have hacked in to your network and used it to defraud others this would register your i.p address with ebay as a bad one
hope this helps0 -
Presumably the sellers you message are fine, upstanding types? I suppose if you consistently sent messages to naughty sellers who were later NARU, ebay might suspend you for your own safety :rolleyes:My TV is broken!

Despite what live help told me at the time once you have had an account blocked for asking too many questions you will never be able to ask a question again on that account it simply blocks it repeatedly.
What I have had to do is set up 20 ebay accounts purely for asking questions with email addresses that all redirect to one email account.
Then I ask a max 5 questions per account before moving to the next one until I have used all 20 then I start again.Which is a complete pain in the **** to say the least.
I have spent many hours on livehelp and emailing ebay and there does not seem to be any other way of doing it since they changed there system a few months ago.

I flick between about a dozen accounts in total, and occasionaly I get some cookie clashes - for example, If i have unread messages on one account, then log into another, the same unread message note appears, yet there are no new messages in the folder. Howvere, if I clear the cache and cookies between logins, everything is fine
I also have the problem with repling to ASQ's - there are a few pages under one of my user ID's that generate a LOT of questions. I normally receive 5-10 questions a day, and it's not even about a product I sell! I've given up trying to reply to them now as I get warning messages about not being in an open transaction.
I've not had an account blocked for suspected TKO/hacking though.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

I think you are bob on there
That is exactly what is happening. Im in the same situation.
I ask a lot of questions (no im not a spammer) as the condition is dependant on what I buy and I do it for peace of mind.
I have to say though after getting an account reset, I can normally send questions again (So the account isnt useless) however its not long before I get blocked again
There must be a pattern to it and ill have to try and figure it out.0 -
If it's an ongoing error, I would post about it on Q&A and try to get the attention of a pink. There may even be a facility for reporting bugs, although I wouldn't hold your breath! My TV is broken!

Yeah ill try and raise it thanks.
Its so frustrating. I can understand that they want ebay to be a safe place however asking questions doesnt mean a hijacked account.
I know its difficult to track these hackers, however they re making other ppl suffer.
Ill update ppl if I get anywhere0
