Sorry, but having seen what they're made out of on Jamie's Fowl Dinners I'm not sure I could ever eat a hot dog again _pale_“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

I was just thinking I would never eat sausages again unless I made them myself - where can I get decent ones - I could not eat hot dogs againSaving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0 -
There was another thread on using up hot dog sausages recently. One idea that caught my eye was for something called "Cowboy Beans" with baked beans, chilli, etc. It reminded me of that scene in Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles".The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

I remember seeing it as a teenager, that scene still makes me laugh! Just glad I'm wasn't in the vicinity.
I didn't see Jamies fowl (foul) dinners I'm pleased to say (i suspect I might never eat anything but vege again if I had  ). I normally buy local sausages, Debbie and Andrews.:wave:0 -
It's coming to the end of the month & I made the decision to have my hair done tomorrow rather than doing a food shop
as I can easily live off the contents of my cupboards until next week.
After having a root through my cupboards i found a tin of hotdogs (yes I know they are bad for me but Im not going to throw them away) so I was wondering whether anybody had a recipe that I could use up these hotdogs in? I have most things in the cupboards & fridge - any suggestions are very welcome!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
How about a potato or pasta salad with the hot dogs sliced up. Or a tortilla which can be eaten hot or cold! Maybe something like this but replace bacon with hot dogs..

Hmmmm not sure if it woudl work with tinned ones but hohum
Slice the dogs up and fry off with a chopped onion - the sausage should start to caramelise a little (go brown). Mix with boiled maceroni, a splash of milk, dash of garlic powder and tomato ketchupStir well and munch!

when i was a kid it was a bit of a treat to have a hotdog sliced lengthwise most of the way through then you spread it open, popped in some of those cheese slices (the ones with the individual wrappers) and popped them under the grill
however, having grown up a littlei'd also suggest chopping them and frying them til they go brown on both sides. i have a meal i do using smoked sausage that is fried til nicely browned then added to cooked white rice and the sweetcorn i also sauteed in with the smoked sausage so you could do that recipe with the hotdogs instead. i know it sounds plain but it's surprisingly lovely, if you want a bit of extra flavour sprinkle with garlic granules (or fry garlic in with the other stuff) and possibly sprinkle a bit of cheese over the top, yum!
