Hi MissS
Sounds like things are carp over with you...
I could send you one of the very dodgy-looking virtual hugs but I'm not sure that would even make you smile - let alone help. Here goes: :grouphug: .
But I didn't want to read and run, I wanted to say your words have gone into the ether and I'm sorry to hear you're feeling down.
Are you having some nice work done on the flat - or is it for the prospective flat-share?
Good luck with job 1 and 2 later - are these the babysitting? How old are the child/ren? Do you like them and get to sing along to cinderella/high school musical - or are they older and you listen to them clicking on the computer?
Cheers

Hi
I'm so sorry you are feeling so down. This will make everything so mych harder to do and seem so much worse.
Would it be worth seeing your doctor and discussing how you're feeling with them. Maybe you need a blood test? Just a thought but please don't struggle on your own if it continues. xx0 -
Hiya
Didn't want to read and run, so thought I'd stop by to say WELL DONE YOU! Reading on yourprospective lodger - have you thought about impact in insurances and such like? Oh, and it might sound presumptious (as I'm only just introducing myself), but having read through your post in one go - you're not premenstrual by any chance?
Anyway, all the luck in the world. I may pop in from time to time to see how you're doing!Poor and content is rich enough!0 -

Well, I've cancelled all my extra jobs here and there except for job 2 £8 an hour as this only runs for 5 months max and it takes 3 minutes by car to get to. The others, although they pay more, take time (unpaid) to prepare for, take time (unpaid) to assess after and take a long time to get to and from which costs in fuel.
I feel guilty as I know that other people are looking for and not finding work and I'm giving some up. I also feel guilty as this will mean less £££ coming in and therefore going off the debts BUT I need to make sure that I'm ok and clearly (judging by the last few posts) that it's all getting too much for me.
So....I'm off to fill in a new SOA based on the income from a tenant and without my extra jobs...
Hiya
Those figures are falling really fast now, doesn't it feel good to see them in black and white (or red and white above!)
Early last year I went through a million emotions around work as I had been made redundant, but Local Authorities don't do 'redundant' they do 'redeployment' and there were two jobs in the offing, one that was 3/days a week, higher grade, v interesting, and one that was full time, lower grade, dull, but would bring home more per week because of the extra hours. I agonised over that, but eventually went for the P/T job, encouraged loads by people on here. Since then I've tended to have extra work to do most months, which has meant we're better off than if I had taken the F/T job.
My point is (eventually!!) that sometimes we have to go with our guts, and when we are fortunate enough to have a choice, to try and look at the complete picture - which for you at the mo includes health and how much time you've got for you, making sure you're ok.
Incidentally - my latest piece of extra (1 day/wk) work will finish mid April, and I've just been offered a job April - Aug standing in while they appoint a new manager - ie managing 2 projects(which is a full time job) in one or two days a week - 'doing what I can'. The rate of pay is absolutely fantastic, but, I know it would be exhausting and impossible to do the job properly, and I would probably end up some days doing job one followed by job two. In the Children's Service world it is not easy just to say 'I've done my hours.. see you next week' as real people suffer for a week. Part of me thinks that I could knuckle down, grit my teeth and it will probably only take 4 months to get the new mgr in and to think of the money and how it would affect our debt free date. The other part of me just thinks life is just too short to loose all my leisure time and work balmy hours again. What do you think?
Cheers

Hey CBM. Wow- sounds like quite a decision. I think if I were you, I'd do it. I'd think it's only for a few months and I want to see what I can do with the position. I know what you mean about not wanting to take on too much with the line of work you're in as real lives are involved. You say life's too short but in reality it's 4 months and what impact will it have on your DFD...would that bring it forward and leave you able to enjoy yourself then?
At the end of the day- you have to be happy. Which option will make you happy?
Let me know what you decide xx
Thanks for this. I think you're both right, I've asked for more details, so I can try and be sure of the finish date, rather than 'when we've got a replacement mgr'. So we'll see!
You sound a bit more chirpy MissS, how are the lodger plans coming on?
