Getting to Wembley stadium
I'm looking into booking a wembley stadium tour, as a Christmas present for my Nephew.
Ideally I like to do it as a day trip, but I'm open to booking a hotel a little further out and getting the train/tube to wembley.
I'm happy to drive, and again park a little way out, or the train is an option.
I live in NW Leicestershire and have access to Loughborough, Leicester and Tamworth train stations.

I think this would be quite doable as a day trip, especially as the Wembley tour only takes around 2 hours.
If you're driving consider parking at Stanmore Underground station and taking the Jubilee line to Wembley Park. It's only a few stops and then about a 10 min walk to the stadium.
For the train, look at Tamworth to London Euston, then the train to Wembley Central, which is about a 20 min journey followed by a 20 min walk. You could also compare prices from Leicester or Loughborough to St Pancras, then take the Metropolitan line from King's Cross St Pancras to Wembley Park.
I'd compare the total costs of petrol, parking and train tickets for however many of you are going. Personally, I think a day trip would be cheaper than a hotel.
As it's a Christmas present, Wembley offer tour gift vouchers, so you wouldn't necessarily need to choose a date straight away.
Hope your nephew enjoys it 😊🏐

Last visit to Wembley I parked at Croxley station (one stop from the start/end of the line in Watford) for the tube ride to Wembley.

Thanks for this, it's a great help. I think I'd rather drive to Stanmore than get the train to London then the tube upto wembley.

The Jubilee line goes from Stanmore to Wembley Park

Stanmore's a good shout from NW Leics, M1 down to J4 and you're only about 10 mins from the station. It's a paid car park that fills up with commuters on weekdays so a weekend or school hols date makes it a lot easier. Worth checking the Wembley events calendar before you pick a day too, IIRC tours don't run on match or concert days and Wembley Park station gets rammed. After the tour Boxpark and the London Designer Outlet are right next to the stadium if your nephew needs feeding lol
