Hi all
Day off from paid stuff today, took car for service and had a wander around the shops while it was in, rather extravagant but I do it very rarely! Before I went out I did a 10 minute MAD session in the main rooms of the house, order is being restored gradually. 2 loads o f laundry also done and both dry enough to put in the airing cupboard by the time I got home.
A GP visit yesterday diagnosed a virus so now I have more medication, I suspect I have overdone it a bit today as am feeling tired and a bit feverish, sitting quietly now and an early night on the cards I think!
Hope you are all ok x

As it's my first 'proper' week ever I've gone slightly off the list and did the spare rooms today:
- Made the beds neatly
- Dusted surfaces
- Hoovered including the edges, skirtings and the headboards
- I organised the clutter in the small room as much as possible
- Emptied the DW
- Trip to MrS for the few bits MrM was out of stock of, and in search of hot glue sticks
- Back in time to unload the MrM delivery
- Folded up washing and put it away (note to self the airing cupboard needs sorting)
- Opticians appointment attended
- DH is cooking tonight, but I loaded the DW and S/S the worktops
Good to go into the weekend with a clean and almost organised home 😀

the only help the movers had today was me - I did register the hired van so we could go to the tip. I helped fling stuff at the tip and I saw 2 people actually attempt to use screened-off skips…apparently that happens often, according to the operative I spoke to. Common sense truly is not common. They have no bins yet, so stuff is coming home with me to sort into recycling rather than use the skip they've been offered. So flying of a sort though none here.
VERY welcome letter from HMRC!

Morning all,
As usual, I have fallen off the wagon towards the end of the week. The house doesn’t look too bad considering the presence of builders and if you don’t look too closely. Yesterday morning I went out with a friend for a short mooch around, something which I also very rarely do. I kept a tight hold on my purse although I did let some of the moths see the light for a couple of stocking fillers for DD. The afternoon was supposed to be spent drowning under metre upon metre of curtain fabric, but I only managed about an hour, interrupted by DH’s calls for attention over his tax, then the fading light stopped sewing play. As the weather this morning is uninspiring, and the carpenter is due shortly, I may beat a retreat upstairs and sew rather than go to the allotment.
I’ll put the kettle on if anyone cares to join me x6 -

Hello all. Not sure if I've posted this week as it's been a blur of grand children, paid stuff and two days wiped with migraine. So very sorry to read about summer cat and hugs etc to all where required.
Today I have picked up car from garage, taken loan car back, done one wash load which is on airer, dailies and attempted two walks with Poppet but something has spooked her. Will try again shortly.
I've also sorted out finances for the month and transferred money to family so they can sort out their Xmas presents. I just can't be bothered so will just get one small present each for the kiddies to open. Bah humbug.
I can't believe how full my diary already is for November and December but it's starting nicely tomorrow morning with a date to the cinema with DH to see ghosts.
Happy Halloween everyone.

I set the robovac to work under the beds in the spare room this morning while catching up on the final Traitors episode. Then cleared away the breakfast things, did a dishwasher load/unload and found out a book I needed. I realised I couldn't read said book so need some new readers - are they making text too small these days or is it me (maybe both). I managed to have a tidy of the airing cupboard - there's way too much in there - and put a surplus duvet set onto the charity shop pile. Spare pillows, like cushions, seem to multiply in my house - some more culling needed. A few jobs to do tomorrow, including advertising a couple of items for sale - I hesitate because it can be a real chore responding to people (is it still for sale, will you take 2p) and who don't turn up, or who may turn up at 10 pm at night when they were supposed to be there at 6 pm but it would be good to be able to make a few £s.

We spent the morning inspecting our newly rendered chimneys from a neighbour's house, catching up with them, and then clearing out all the detritus in the yard so that we can go into the autumn/winter weather with a clean slate. I planted about 4kgs of daffodils in two troughs and a pot for picking and bringing into the house when they flower. I don't begrudge buying daffodils in the spring but as we've got the compost, the bulbs and the containers it seems daft not to plant some for ourselves. And I've put the bins out for collection tomorrow.
That's me for the week.

Hello all. Hope you having a relaxing Sunday.
DH and I went to cinema this morning, very funny film then big shop time. I don't do food shopping usually so couldn't get over some of the prices. Poppets favourite treats are now £20 a bag.
Dailies have been done. Two dog walks and I'm just relaxing now while DH cooks a roast chicken dinner. Yum.
See you all on the next thread.

Afternoon all. Not much flying done this week because I was looking after two dogs in two different houses so lots of walking and twoing and froing between the houses. However yesterday I got the grass cut and did some pruning ready for the green bin to be emptied on Friday. Today I fully cleaned the bathroom and toilet, dusted polished and vacuumed the whole house upstairs and down, and the stairs, and washed the kitchen floor. Then just as I sat down DD2 asked if I wanted to go for a dog walk. The truthful answer was no but I went anyway. Then home and cooked a roast dinner. Felt exhausted after that but I'm beginning to recover now. At least I can go into next week on top of things.
Hope everyone's OK x
