Thanks for the lists Natty and so sorry for the loss of Summercat, it is so hard when they go.
Usual chaotic life here.
- went to body pump
- went to garden centre on the way home as we are finally putting together a new bed next to the drive following the drought-induced loss of a small tree and the decision to re-think that area. Traipsed round in the rain tutting about the prices but I did manage to get a few yellow stickered plants which had actually been on my list, and used a token from last Xmas.
- Had a very hasty lunch and was 'waved off' by Mr N as I set off for my Alexander session half an hour since arriving with the comment "it was so nice to see you, glad you managed to drop in"…..but he said it with a smile and a kiss.
- went to library and Mr T on my way home.
- Culled a load of emails.
How seriously is everyone "stocking up for emergencies"? I had batteries on my list anyway today as the clock has run down, so that sorts out torches as well. I can't get my head round buying bottled water - all that plastic - and especially when it is monsooning outdoors. Perhaps I'll resort to the filter/sterilising tabs so we can work our way through the 4 water butts which I imagine are pretty full by now. The freezers are full, but I guess if there are power cuts a) that's a lot of food to get through and b) how much of the rapidly-defrosted food and the tins do I actually want to eat raw? However I do want to lose weight…….perhaps I should stock up on chocolate for a source of solace. On that cheerful note I'm going to bed.

Hello all,
I would like to rejoin you if I may? It’s been a long time!I have some health issues that I am dealing with so will struggle to do all levels but I will try to keep up. Monday I decided to start with a swish of the ensuite, wiping down, putting away and changing over towels. Then later in the day I moved to the master bedroom, changed the bedding, rehomed books and assorted gibble. Finally I managed to dust and vac with the stick vac as I struggle with the big vac at present. The room is not perfect but it is so much better…
After paid work was done. Towels were washed and dried, bedding loaded for tomorrow, there is more laundry and it’s going to take a bit to get up to date but I will aim for 1 load a day, will have to use the TD as definitely not drying weather but grateful for having the means to do this…Sorry to read about the loss of a beloved pet, it is always hard x

Morning all xx
👋 to BadCat18. Welcome back 😊.
I'm trying to create some sort of structure/ routine to my week days and immediately felt under pressure yesterday. Crazy, but Google says it's a thing, so it must be a thing!
Anyhoo, Monday was kitchen for me so my QH was spent WUDUPA to get on top of the pots (WUDUPA will now be a daily.) I also changed the tea towel and kitchen towel, emptied the bin and put a fresh bin bag in. Then QH Admin MAD to the piles of paper on the kitchen table.
Tuesday is LR. So the plan is
- Do the Dailies
- QH MAD in LR
- QH Admin
Plus
- Pay C Tax
- Return hub to BT
- Buy presents for November birthdays
- Pay Road Tax
I've PM'd you Natty. I'm in. Thank you for organising the Flylady Christmas Card Swap. 🥰
Love to all.

Hi all
Nice to be back 😊 I’m hoping the accountability will keep me focused on baby steps to restore order. Feeling tired today but 1 load of laundry done and just swapped to TD. Dishwasher emptied and reloaded and then that’s the dishes up to date, feels like an achievement! Paid stuff now but will aim to do a swish of the top bathroom and change the towels there. Definitely rooms that could do with more attention but that feels manageable, I have a training call this afternoon so may be able to do some office tidying while I listen…
have a good day!7 -
Welcome back Badcat - there is no requirement to do all levels (and I should know, some days even the S&S is beyond me) but we know it works and we keep goping and EVERY achievement is an achievement to be celebrated.
The usual (for me) impetus of bright sunshine and a dry day has compelled me to clean the kitchen - I have put the christmas cake in the cupboard above the fridge (though I may regret that when it comes to feeding it on Sundays) and I have also climbed up to the baking cupboard and put stuff away, I have washed the jam pan in which I made my first ever chutney and I am now upstairs having brought sewing gear to put away (I have treated myself to a large cutting mat, a long, wide sewing ruler and a rotary cutter! - (must stop watching sewing bee/people on the internet making things) so, already, kitchen is looking better. Really I have come up for labels!
Windows open and house getting progressively less vinegary!

I didn't have much time for flying Monday, so trying to do the double today!
Cleaned skirtings throughout downstairs, including the hall (cloakroom will get a wet wipe on bathroom day).
Hoovered and mopped too - and even used the little attachment on the stairs. (kitchen tops and cupboards were wiped at the weekend, but the baseboards look like they need doing - another time).
Three WM loads done and hung up.
Have exhausted myself now, so dusting and window cleaning will also have to be another time.
I did a bit of tidying and popping stuff into the charity bag as I went. Moved the lounge shelving unit over a bit and made space for a basket to hold the blankets. I'll look for one tomorrow as I've got my eyes on a key holder in Dunelm and a couple of pots. The hall table is a right hotspot.
I was going to put my old UGGs in the charity bag, but gave them a wash and clean instead. I then sprayed protector on them, and ordered some sheepskin insoles. My absolute fave UGGs desperately need repairing - I was pondering the cost of some Shoe Goo and suede patches vs going to the cobblers who probably won't be able to repair anyway.
A sit down and relax before prepping DH's tea, I'm out for a drink with friends later so will have a snack before I leave.
*must remember when its bathroom day to take the drain weasel up to the ensuite as its draining really slowly again.
**and I must figure out how to clean inside the radiators - full of dust.

@ SandyShores I have a radiator brush - soft fibres - it's brilliant. Loads of info on google.
I have level 3'd the kitchen and it looks SO much better…
Currently in the 'moving things into their correct room and actually putting them away and not just down' mode.

I have never been keen on keeping lots of food in, always seeing it as wasted money, but I do believe that we aren't being given these messages without a reason. I worry a bit about panic buying and we live 3 miles from the nearest shop, so it makes sense to plan a little. I have been slowly building up a small store of tinned and dried food and things like candles and batteries, but I don't intend to go over the top. We have lots of camping kit in the house anyway so we have things like gas stoves. What worries me is that if I do this but friends and family don't, then what? Who do you help?
Anyhow, Flying has been minimal, the paid stuff is super busy and I am tired tonight, I am concentrating on the basics.
Sorry to hear about your cat Natty, sad news x

Hi again
Top bathroom swished, towels changed, washed, dried and put away, another room looking better than it was albeit a small one! Office tidied a bit during training call, some paperwork filed, pile for shredding created, various bits set aside for action, will aim to build in some admin time over next couple of days.Laundry loaded ready for tomorrow, kitchen reset after supper, that’s my lot today!
