Apologies in advance for taking this thread off topic!

molerat I find Vision Express sales staff to be very pushy. I presume they're on commission. I had my eye test there last year, the sales assistant was really putting the hard sell on me to buy frames there and then. I told her thank you very much, but I didn't have the time right now, but if she could give me my prescription I would have a look on their website later. She wasn't too happy, but not my problem.

Putting the hard sell on OAPs to buy perv glasses is really terrible. I am glad to see that many places such as gyms and swimming pools are banning them, as they are really being used a lot to objectify women and girls by taking images of them secretly without their consent.

Really, that's poor. Are they selling full-on Meta Ray-Bans?

At what price? (asking for a friend..)

Probably trying to offload these PDQ before they get banned at just about everywhere there are other people.

When someone figures out how to aggregate together all the personalised special/cashback/discount rewards from your accounts then I, for one, will pay a reasonable subscription for the service.

I haven't counted but I've probably got a dozen such accounts.

IRO £400 a pair …….. but they only cost £20 pm on credit, that is how they sell them.

I've noticed something else which may become significant in future

Get your £5 fee back seems to have become one of the Challenges shown in the app.

It would appear that I activated this on 2nd October

I'm going to have a discussion about this. I paid in a sizable amount on 1st October, and I'm not yet shown as meeting the challenge this month. I'm not aware of any notification that refunding the fee would become conditional on doing something more than before, and I'd like them to clarify exactly what is happening.

I don’t think you can activate that challenge. It gets done automatically. It also shows as “not met” for ages, even if the waiver has already happened

Maybe, and I hope so. I could leave it a bit to see, or I have another reason to talk to them anyway, 3 lots of cashback missing from last month

Edit: it took over an hour of queues and 3 wrong departments to talk about the cashback tracking, and I didn't bother to ask about the monthly fee

    1. My £5 fee seems to be charged / refunded almost simultaneously but in saying that I’m always in credit and the App challenge takes care of itself. I do however ‘activate’ the ‘log into the app 3 times a month’ challenge.
    2. Sending money abroad using the App doesn’t work for me as when the phone rings for me to verify it’s really me it logs me out and when I log back in again it has cleared the entire request! It does work using the website as that stays logged in.
    3. I aim to keep a balance of £5k in Club Lloyds as it appears above that they pay zero interest. 2.96% gross above / up to £4k and 0.76% below that. What I haven’t worked out yet is if I qualify for the higher rate on the full £5k or if the interest is separated and I only get the higher rate on the upper £1k. I ask because other Lloyds savings accounts that pay that have withdrawal restrictions.
    4. In August I received a £15 goodwill payment from Lloyds following constant difficulties in accessing the Rewards / Lifestyle Benefits.. within the App.

    3. It's banded, on £5k you earn 0.75% AER on the first £4k and 3% AER on the next £1k so with £5k deposited it's only £1k that'll earn the higher rate. Personally I keep my current account balance with Lloyds to a minimum.

Can't be bothered to work out what the AER is on £5k held in that account. Whatever it is, there are many easy access accounts paying much better rates available.

It should be about right (happy to be corrected if not) my very quick calculation would be 0.75*4 + 3 / 5 so 1.2%
