    Thanks all.

I spent ages looking and trying in shops as recommended and I've ordered a handmade wool topped Flaxby from Dreams

We just bought a mattress - pocket spring with memory foam top( and ottoman base ) from Dreams, simple because it is our nearest bed store. Only there 45 mins., and did not look anywhere else. In my book life's too short to be trailing around bed stores, and I am a bit wary about buying beds/mattresses on the internet ( happy to buy most things that way) . To be fair though it was only for a bed that will be used sparingly ( £1000 all in, including assembly and take the old bed and mattress away) and would have shopped around more if looking for our main bed.

We bought a Flaxby pillowtop from Dreams about 2 years ago. Said goodbye to our bad backs. I am a back sleeper and the mattress has gone into my shape but my husband who is tall but slim sleeps on his side facing away from me. That side of the mattress is now sloping though he says it's comfortable ' We don't turn the mattress as it feels awful on my side. It cost a lot of money and is good quality but there is a hump in the middle too!

We had this dilemma earlier this year.

After trying many in bed showrooms and failing to find anything we got on with we ended up taking a punt on the Origin Pro mattress in a box.

Best mattress we have had. We both get a great nights sleep on it. It took a little breaking in but after six months it is now so comfortable.

Think we paid about £800 for the king size with two pillows and a mattress protector cover.

  • I’ve been looking at Dream Home Store recently as well. Their mattresses seem to have quite a few different options, has anyone here tried one?
