Have a lovely holiday Jazee.
Up early for me, walked the dog, did all the morning routine and managed to get myself to the podiatrist for a 9.30 appointment. Both he and I were early so it was done and dusted by 9.30, and he didn't charge me. Lovely man. I'm now icing my ankle and my knee three times a day 20 minutes each place for the next few weeks and in the meantime I can go back to walking distances on even ground. I heart Cycle Routes. Walked back to the house via a couple of CSs where I might have picked up a few books and cards. Oops.
All the filing was finished the other day (hurrah!) and the In Tray is looking a lot slimmer.
Toaster polished, chicken stripped, DW running as I speak and supper prepped for tonight. I added lentils to the Tomato Provencal and it didn't change it at all, so that's a recipe modification we'll be keeping because it needed protein to turn it into a main course. Didn't stop us splurging on our favourite cheese though!
Must dust and wash down paintwork ….

went to see my friend today - she's been unwell for about 2 years - it was lovely to see her looking so well; she is no longer struggling with pain and was bright and chatty and I was so thrilled.
All laundry ironed.
Tomorrow DS has his birthday and will be the age I was when I 'gave birth' (not that I actually gave birth as such). #shocked

Good news about your friend, Valli, and happy birthday to the Valliboy.
I’m not sure what happened to yesterday, but I did achieve bathroom cleaning and a stack of admin. Today was so lovely when I got up that I hot footed it to the allotment. A few people had the same idea so there may have been just as much chatting as there was working. I came home with some more veg, so the fridge is stuffed with healthiness. This afternoon I have faffed about - clean flower pots neatly stacked away, repotted a houseplant that has twice taken a leap off the side in desperation for a bigger pot, paid the window cleaner and taken delivery of a small C-word present for DD. I am now contemplating some light flying but open to distraction and procrastination as usual.

A lovely brunch - and I had to decline the offer of a slice of birthday cake as I was too full - and it was a coffee cake.
Washing line dried. Been to vol job this afternoon and sold some space hire - go me!

Morning. Glad your DS had a good birthday Valli.
We are home. Had to come back a little earlier than planned to take Poppet to the vet. She has a water infection. Usually brilliant at taking tabs, this morning has been a struggle but she's cuddled up to me now so I think all is forgiven - until later.
I intend to flutter today. DH has gone to paid stuff and will do a food shop on his way home. I would like to get the raspberry canes cut down today so that's a plan. I was thinking of going to a village fundraiser later but not after paying the vet bill!
Have a great day everyone.

Happy Birthday Valli - hope you have a lovely day. Thank you for all you do to keep this thread running. Great to hear that your friend is making a good recovery. Sorry you missed out on the coffee cake yesterday - and I can't help out with an emergency cake parcel as J the gardener has eaten the last slice I had in the FF xx
Jazee, I'm sorry to hear that you all had to come home early because Poppet is unwell again: Rosie sends GWS woofs xx
I'm on my 3rd day of a migraine so not up to much atm. On Thursday I managed to bake and decorate cakes for yesterday's Macmillan coffee morning at church. People were very generous and we made over £300 in 2 hours.
We had tickets for Robbie Cumming of "Canal Boat Diaries" fame yesterday evening, and as I still wasn't feeling too good and it was only a 5-minute drive to the town hall I said that DH should drive there - I think it caused me to have a relapse! The show was fun and because this area is criss-crossed by canals and there are lots of narrowboat enthusiasts around, the town hall was packed out and it was a lovely atmosphere. I fell into bed almost as soon as we got home (and that was after sleeping for most of the afternoon) but still woke up this morning with the muggy head.
I have a load of copying to do [ETA all copying now done but in a mixed heap which needs sorting properly!] and some presents to wrap, and that is quite enough to occupy me today.
Have a good weekend, all xxx

Happy Birthday Valli x
Nice day again here but not enough washing for a load. That always bothers me; if it's a nice day I like to have washing on the line. DD1 just collected her dog and I'm missing him already. Just normal things done today, tidying up, cooking, washing up etc.
Hope everyone's OK. Hope your migraine will soon be gone Iona and hope Poppet is better soon x
