full VW service history with at least 2 brake fluid changes.
i dont think there referring to brake travel as in the pedal i think they mean how long the car takes to stop, as we noticed this and had to adjust the way we drive it compared to my A5.
im not sure they garage took the drums off as i dont see that in the video. they did test drive it and discovered the same problems we have been reporting to KIA (who we bought the VW from) since day one. KIA are also the ones that said get the report to see whats wrong with it.

I have never heard "brake travel" to mean anything other than the distance the pedal moves, the term for how long the car takes to stop is "stopping distance".

Really quite astonishing.
You have adjusted the way you drive to compensate?
I take that to mean that you leave more distance to stop in?
What are you going to do in an emergency?
All this to see if you can get somebody else to pay?
Just fix the brakes if they don't work properly or or stop driving it until you can get them fixed.
Is it really worth risking killing somebody over?

it passed the MOT the dealer put on it, so is it dangerous or not? if dangerous dealer needs to fix under the 6 month warranty if not its a feature of how the car drives and like others have said i just "need to apply more pressure on the brake pedal". dealers cant have it both ways thats why i bought from a dealer otherwise i would have bought private and saved the money for maintenance.

So the brakes work well enough to pass an MOT?
If so, just get on with driving it.
If the brakes work properly there isn't anything to fix?
It's an ev, how much do you actually need brakes?
It won't feel anything like an Audi A5, it's a different setup entirely.
I have been driving a Tesla Model 3 for six years and have yet to touch the brake pedal other than when you first get it.

What does it mean when you say you have noticed how long the car takes to stop and adjusted how you drive to compared to your A5?
Can the car stop in a reasonable distance or not?
Can you activate the abs?
If the car can lock its wheels then it's able to stop in the shortest possible distance on the tyres fitted.

That is indeed the only common meaning of the term.
But "stopping distance" is the distance between the driver perceiving the hazard and the vehicle stopping.
It's made up of thinking distance - the distance between the driver perceiving the hazard and hitting the brakes - and braking distance - the distance the car takes to stop.
If we're being strictly accurate, I doubt brake pedal travel is any different for glazed pads and discs. Pedal pressure might be a little higher, as that glaze is overcome. Pedal travel may be slightly longer because of the ill-adjusted rear drums, though.1 -
I agree with this, I drive a Model Y and I probably use the brake pedal once a month (when someone else does something stupid, normally pulling out from a side road in front of me), in normal driving it is just not needed.

The MOT is the absolute lowest bar for 'safety', there's a huge gulf between "stops so badly it fails an MOT" and stops well.
If it passed the MOT, then the dealer can say they meet the minimum standard. As I said, you largely lost the opportunity to get the dealer to fix it when you drove it off the forecourt.
If you're worried about how the brakes perform, then just get the brakes fixed yourself and stop wasting time trying to win against the dealer.0 -
Note, Kia only own one dealer "Bolton" Every other one is a franchise. So buying a non Kia from a franchise dealer has nothing to do with Kia.
Given the fact that you highlighted issue on test drive yet did not return to dealer when picking up saying it is not fixed. & are still driving the car after 1,500 miles.
I would simply get the disks & pads changed @ a good local indi dealer.
