Can someone please confirm if I need a Visa/ETA

That's all true but the OP's issue is that the Ryanair site is saying that all travellers TO THE UK require an ETA/eVisa.
The UK's system is up and running, unlike that of the EU.

Sorry my bad! Ryanair are wrong! I’m going on holiday to Spain soon and this’s what the Jet2 website says about it;

Ryanair arent "wrong" as such, they are just displaying the same message for everyone. Obviously anyone coming back into the UK with a UK passport wont need a visa.

Not saying that for our flight back from Corfu on Friday.

As part of the Common Travel Area, British and Irish passports holders do not require an ETA to enter the UK.
Includes Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man.

I think your definition is strange. They clearly can make a website display a different message according to inputs. Other sites do this. They just don't choose to and create quite unnecessary worry by their laziness. Still what should one expect from the likes of Ryanair?
