I keep getting asked to quickly scan Tesco clubcard at self-checkouts. Is this danderous?

Someone asked me to use my card the other day because they had to come out without it and it was a fairly hefty discount on a bottle of whisky they were looking for.

I can’t think of any situation where my name would come up around the mishandling of a bottle of whiskey.

What if the other person paid with a stolen or cloned card? Their name wouldn't be associated with the transaction, so the only one that would is yours because it was your Clubcard. I've done it with close relatives but I wouldn't do it for a random stranger.

Been in Lidl and the checkout operator when 2 people are shopping together and one doesn' have the app suggested to scan for both parties

If they're paying with a stolen card they're not bothered about a reduction in price as it's FREE anyway haha

Been asked in Pets at Home and my son was asked in Sainsbury’s. Both times by the cashier.

I did not give the person my card, I held it while it was swiped.

I have regularly used my combined club card and credit card in Tesco ‘for points only’.

I paid with a different credit card which gave cash back.

The problem with Sainsburys is once you have scanned your Nectar card it gives you the option on the screen to pay for your shopping with points so keep an eye out for this.

I don’t use self service. I don’t work for them or do I get a discount for doing their job.
