Reluctant to move from Freesat

The broadcasters and OFCOM like Freely and other streaming/catchup TV players. The broadcasters want to know what you are watching and dislike home recorders that allow you to jump over the adverts. OFCOM would like TV frequencies to use for other purposes, eg mobile phone networks (part of the original UHF TV allocation has already been re-allocated to mobile networks).
It is no secret that broadcast TV will be replaced by internet TV eventually…

Freely is basically Freeview but entirely through your broadband rather than needing a TV aerial. Never tried it myself but I think it ties in the usual suspects streaming apps.

The good thing about freely is that you can restart programmes if you miss the beginning and also watch programmes that have ended or form previous days

As OP uses Freesat that can be done by using the catch up Apps from the Live Tv section.
Also gives a better picture like Freely does.

Terrestrial (OTA - over the air) in the US, has no plans to switch to streaming, in fact it is being improved with
a new standard called ATSC 3.0, also known as NextGen TV.

Not relevant to the UK as we are getting rid of it.

I just like to add it seems like a good idea in that it adds all terrestrial TV than works over the internet. Having all the channels in a single device is tidy and less confusing the many apps each with a different look and feel. The only real flaw imho it's not a app you could just download on your existing TV or Device.

Let me know when it closes, and I will take my aerial down.😁

I already have that with my Freeview box, I think?

TV delivered via the internet instead of via an aerial/satellite.
