Have I really not posted since the morning of 1st September? [Hangs head in shame] I have been reading along and noting all the flying I should have been doing, but nowadays my head is all over the place, everything seems to take me ages, and progress is soooooo slow. Please may I join the snuggle of sloths?

Lovely to have you back, MMM xx

You are coping brilliantly, HB - much better than I do when DH has to go to horse piddle xx

On Tuesday afternoon I went to K&N and afterwards picked up another small bagful of yellow plums from the tree in the church car park. Yesterday I trimmed off all the bruised and split bits, chopped up the remaining plums and microwaved them to slow down the deterioration. This morning I reheated the stewed fruit, added a bag of sugar, some pectin and a dash more boiling water, and somehow magicked 3x 1lb jars and two "taster " jars. J the gardener came this afternoon, and as I fortuitously still had 4 scones in the freezer, we were all able to sample the jam. I can confirm that it has set well and is very tasty. I'm still very low on empty jars so being careful about what else I preserve until some more come in.

I spent ages this morning sorting out two new ISAs with decent interest rates [thanks, Martin] into which I intend to transfer past years' savings from a recently matured account. I also finished packaging up the photos for DSis-i-L but am waiting to hear which address she wants me to post them to.

DH did hoover his bedroom on Tuesday, as requested. I have not used the hoover since.

Tomorrow I must finish putting things away in my bedroom, change the bedlinen, and dust (I can write my name in it) and hoover. Apart from the piles of paperwork in my study, the rest of the house is Good Enough, and the garden is looking better since J's visit.

Off to watch LLF while I drink my final coffee of the day (decaff of course).

    xxx
