EE, BT, Voda, SKY - Rate these from best to worst?

I'm currently with EE and it's time for renewal.

I've knocked up a quick spreadsheet using the 4 companies (in the thread title)

There are only 4 who offer Digital Voice landline, in my area.

The pricing, for a 24mth contract with vouchers/discounts taken into consideration are as follows:

EE £887

BT £721

Vodaphone £462

Sky £446

Quite a difference. If I go with either of the bottom 2, will I regret it? Are they that bad?

I've just recently moved to Sky, the service is now fine, but the migration was a shambles and they left me initially without service. I've spoken to a lot of Sky agents in the last week either directly or via email, and I can say that they have generally been useless to the point they will tell you black is white to fob you off. Had the migration gone as it should, I would probably be perfectly happy.

I moved to Sky. No problem moving and speeds are fine.

Router is less than ideal when working with remote NAS and I had a couple of other issues with it.

Bought another router and things have improved.

A friend has been with Vodafone for a few years and is very happy with them.

We had sky broadband for 6 years, very few issues and generally pretty good at fixing the minor problems we did have. EE were dreadful when we had them, so much so we had the contract cancelled after 6 months. Im sure others will have had the opposite experience too.

Vodafone get more than their fair share of horror stories here, but I'm currently over halfway through my second (non-consecutive) contract with them and I've had no real problems yet.

I was with BT earlier this year. Price kept going up but my wife wanted to keep the voice landline. I ended up moving to Plusnet (getting Topcashback and a £135 prepaid shopping card from Plusnet).

At the point that I initiated the transfer process to Plusnet I arranged for Voipfone to take on my landline voice service. My switch to Plusnet took around 7 days and the service with Voipfone (with my existing phone number) around a further 5 days.

You can only switch your landline phone number to a voip provider at the time of switching broadband providers as at this point your phone number is released.

This now means that in 2 years time (when my Plusnet deal comes to an end) I have a wide range of broadband providers to choose from. At that point Voipfone will do a quick reconfiguration to link their system to my new providers router.

Just to add that my Plusnet service has run without any issues.

dunno how you arrived at your figures but you recon it’s £18.58 for Sky and £36.95 for EE , the EE price seems like a reasonable ‘in the ballpark’ figure , your Sky figure seems hopelessly optimistic, can you link to both showing Sky approximately half the cost of EE for the same products, from what I’ve seen Sky can be cheaper , not half the price , possibly in the £3 to £5 per month , not £18.

….and here's EE. Note that landline is an extra £3 per month, which Voda and Sky appear to include for free.

I'm paying £39.99 at present (just for the broadband)

That Sky offer is interesting.

In my area (no FTTP here, so FTTC / SOGEA) we don't get quite such a good deal.
