Delayed baggage arrival on holiday

Myself and my family arrived at Cyprus for our holiday almost 2 weeks ago, and when we were waiting in the airport for the luggage to come round the carousel, hardly any luggage arrived. We then learned from a Tui rep who came to inform us that unfortunately most the luggage for our flight was still at Birmingham airport!!!
some people had their cases, some had 1 or 2 of theirs, some were like us and received none of their luggage!! We had 4 suitcases and none arrived!!
2 cases turned up 2 days later and the last 2 cases 3 days later!!
Tui gave us £100 per case to buy essentials. However, we couldn’t plan or do much until all our cases arrived, we didn’t want to spend a day dragging the kids to a shopping centre to buy everything, so we just got a few bits from the beach shops next to us so they could at least enjoy the hotel facilities.
Anybody had this happen and received compensation for the stress and inconvenience of it all??
Tui didn’t seem to know where or when they would arrive, we did a lot of the chasing ourselves, calling airports and baggage departments ourselves.
