5G Broadband thoughts?

And if there is facility for external antennas, on some routers they may be enabled automatically if plugged in, and on some they need to be selected in the router settings.
Look this up if there initially seems to be no difference
And 4g can produce decent speeds, if the map says no 5g

OP needs to get some payg sim cards and do testing himself.
5G broadband is for tech savvy users, lots of tweaking required.1 -
A couple of points re 3, my 5G broadband experience
3 will only supply if their own web site post code and house number checker confirms reasonable signal
3 has a plug and play with 30 day return policy
I received equipment by courier, inserted sim ,switched router on waited a couple of mins for blue and green leds to steady, connected to routers wifi and that's all the setting up required, no altering settings etc and no engineer visit.
The Three mast is on my local football club lighting tower around 250m away direct line through trees, router on ground floor window sill, facing mast

What sort of speeds are you seeing and is it quite variable?

- Mildly surprised they're not using a 'built-in' eSim, these days 🤷🏻
- Is there the facility to use ethernet cables, or have they scrapped that?

Those are good numbers, what are you paying Three for the service?
I've a pal with a similar setup, his speed drops to a crawl each weekday at 15:45 when 1500 kids from the school over the road all check TikTok simultaneously.

Due to issues with VM for a while I thought I might have to do this, was frantically testing speedcheckers on my wife's vodafone sim and my EE one.
The main thing I learnt in my instance was how location dependent they were. Neither were really usable downstairs, the EE one at the back window upstairs could get about 600mb, the vodafone one 300mb at the front window upstairs. Basically if speeds aren't amazing play around with placement a bit.

Small warning - unless you have unlimited data plans those speed tests can consume a chunky part of your monthly data quota.
